Steve Coogan.
After all this time, you've picked out the three people I would actually like to watch together. I think this would be a very interesting chemistry.

VBH = too excitable and deadly boring
Plato = ditto x2
Evans = hyper excitable and a total turn off no matter what programme he's on
Martin = who? oh him, ..stick to fixing trucks mate
QW = The best motoring correspondent/presenter ever!!
Kidd = I like her quiet dignity and chat. Did well with QW.
Tim Shaw = stop wearing your kids clothes and learn some techy stuff.

Don't want banter, or jolly japes or the same cars doing the same smokey drifts week in week out, ..keep it low key, and more technically orientated with presenters who actually know (without the usual TG forced controversy to keep the ratings going) what they are talking about.

My pefect team..

QW.. The Master bar none..
Fuzz Townsend.. (odd guy and I can't bear even to look at him, but he knows his stuff like no other)
Edd China.. (another guy with a great technical knowledge)
Kidd.. For the roving reports and events.

There are plenty of other Z list "presenters" around these days for those viewers who like the 'whooping' stuff whilst driving beemers etc, and talking the most inane bs ever heard on tv.

Lets consign the TG format to the bin at long last and have a decent watchable programme instead of something to get your mates around with takeaways and beer to 'whoop' along with...

Yes I'll watch the new one but only in a car crash sense to see how bad it will be.

The BBC will ensure there is a female amongst them
Haven't they ticked the oppressed, minority box by hiring a Ginga?

I happen to like Evans but I guess he'll be dropping Radio2? Which would be a shame.

Plato is a good character. As is Martin and Glenister.

Very few women work in TV with cars. Martin Clunes' drag act is dull. The squealing bush pig from 5th Gear is well, a squealing bush pig.

I rate Perry as being on TV because she's actually good at her job. And her banter with the bike racers shows she has the skills for this kind of tv show.

All in though, it'll work better being just three blokes acting like immature dicks.
Sort of. But, he is still white hetro sexual male.

So the beeb will have to fit in ethnic minority, homosexual, female somewhere. And probably chuck in some disability as well to cover all the bases they are scared of.

After reading some of Evan's Mail supplement reviews, he will be truly dreadful at reviewing cars. Not that Top Gear was about that, but it will be even less 'car-y' than before.

I t could be called Chris and the wooden tops..

Todays sky news story says..

The DJ has also confirmed that he will be joined by a female co-host on the show, sparking speculation former model Jodie Kidd is in the driving seat for the job.

An expected result, given who the head of BBC1 is married to.

James Martin (the chef) would be a decent addition - he is a real petrolhead and a decent presenter

Northern monkey cyclist hater. Pretty much Clarkson but with pots and pans at home.

Jenny Gow. She isn't awful and is personable.

Steve Coogan is a great shout... doubt he'd ever do it but he loves cars and is just a naturally funny guy, so is well suited.

Jason Plato appearing on TFI is surely a massive clue! No need to pay a Stig, either.

Jodie Kidd is awful, VBH would be much better from a banter point of view.

I thought something was up, as soon as I saw the guest list. Very motorist focussed and the whole TG test tract segment..... carefully choreographed.

I am hoping it will be as entertaining as the old model, but I have a suspicion, that the BBC will screw it up somehow.

Given the level of intellect Chris Evans' humour possesses, they might as well complete the team with these two...

TG without Clarkson May and Hammond and with none of the laddish behaviours will not be Top Gear. It'll be some dire politically correct BBC variation of 5th gear or the like with none of the appeal the old TG had. Can't see I'll be makeing the time to watch it - especially with Chris Evens running it. Nice enough bloke but he's everywhere at the moment and I can only take so much of him. As for Jodie Kidd... really? If ever there was a reason to watch something else like Emmerdale or Corrie re-runs she's it.....

I'm still waiting to see what Clarkson and co will come up with. I'#m pretty sure they'll re-appear on a different channel sooner or later.....

As somebody who stopped watching it because I got bored of the cocking about I'll probably give it a go after the re-vamp to see what it’s like.

Evans was (to me) the obvious choice for the show and as others have said the BBC's penchant for being 'inclusive' will guarantee a female presenter whether it works or not.

I hope Guy Martin doesn't do it if it is offered to him; I like the programs he has done so far and I'd hate to see him tarnished with the Top Gear brush.

Id also love if they just 'discovered' somebody on a track day and gave them a presentation contract.
