Well Button sounds a great choice if that's true. Obviously a world class driver and seems a good character too.

Has anybody considered Ginny Buckley? I've just been watching her on YouTube going on about Porsche Boxsters.

Loves cars, apparently.

Jive Bunny? - should fit it just fine with Chris Evans...
I can see that working, given new TG will be a nauseatingly irritating rehash of the old show.

Why exactly, he may be slightly less dull than your average F1 driver, but that really isn't saying a lot.

Comes across great in interviews so I think he'd be a good choice. Obviously you know him better than the rest of us though?

Didn't realise I needed to know him to have an opinion about his ability as a Top Gear presenter.

You mentioned he is dull? Seems very personable to me.

Nothing against the guy, I just think an F1 driver is a rather dull and obvious choice.

Jack Bauer. Genius.

Guy Martin could take over from him on 24.

Might have to change it to 48 though, to allow for each sentence to be repeated twice. wink

Originally reported in the Mail so could be a load of old balls but...

Jenson Button has been linked to a shock move from the F1 grid to the television presenter's chair.

The Daily Mail reports that 2009 F1 World Champion could be part of the new lineup for the popular British motoring show "Top Gear."

Earlier this year, the BBC sacked "Top Gear's" controversial presenter Jeremy Clarkson, and co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May said they would also not return.

Button's future in F1 is currently the subject of speculation, as McLaren-Honda holds a one-sided 'option' on his services for 2016. He has also been linked with a switch to Williams.

The Daily Mail claims Button is currently "in talks with the BBC about co-presenting 'Top Gear,'" which would put him alongside new host Chris Evans.

"An announcement is imminent," a source reportedly said.

Edit: So much for all that bullst about the public sending in their videos, etc.
Jensen Button is a member of the public, is he not? Maybe he sent a video in....;)

I don't think F1 drivers are dull people at all, but it's their job to be professional sportman and they have to be responsible about representing the team and their sponsors. I'm sure if Button was on Top Gear he'd show his humour and actually have something interesting to say about cars. He's had some nice motors if I remember, didn't he own a Veyron?
