I don't think F1 drivers are dull people at all, but it's their job to be professional sportman and they have to be responsible about representing the team and their sponsors. I'm sure if Button was on Top Gear he'd show his humour and actually have something interesting to say about cars. He's had some nice motors if I remember, didn't he own a Veyron?
Button is not at all dull. Hamilton on the other hand...

Meanwhile, Evans has found Andy Wilman's replacement;

Chris Evans has signed up an old friend to help him rebrand Top Gear – the producer who worked with him on The Big Breakfast.

Lisa Clark, whose CV includes Shooting Stars with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, is the show’s new executive producer.

Personally I think it's the other way around. Button always seems to try too hard to be funny to me.

I think they both have a bit of charisma, though obviously quite different characters... Button's not exactly a comedian but it would be nice to have at least one guy on the show who actually has an in-depth understanding of cars and driving...

That's why they made their resident racing driver a non-speaking part!

(And, I suspect, a snub at Tiff)

JB would probably make a pretty good presenter but why would he want to ?
He's still young and got plenty of racing ahead of him in other formulas.
Unless he's losing the racing bug

Doesn't 'not speaking' avoid Equity rules also? I always assumed it was a clever trick to avoid sharing repeat fees or paying more in the first instance?

Maybe Jenson submitted this video? Certainly shows that he has an ability to cock about ineptly a la Clarkson, May etc

Shan't be watching that then! Pay enough for Sky, not paying anymore just to watch them!
