There was NOTHING wrong with Blakes 7. Damn good stories, good characters, a consistent environment and could be very very dark. The episode where they would have been harvested for parts for example.

Yes, the set wobbled but they all did back then. Yes the clothes were a bit dodgy but I can overlook that.

But Zen, Oric then guns and teleport and characters you actually had feeling for. Really needs a re-run on the BBC but people have been asking this for years. It did get a run on Gold (I think) a few years back.

Loved it and the end stayed with me for a long time.

What was sad for me was seeing Stephen Pacey ( Tarrent ) in that human thing the other week, he played a nonce, an old nonce.
All time favorite episode, my first two series were my favorite but the last episode ( Blake )was a master piece for me, its like they all went the extra mile.

Recently watched the complete Hammer House of Horror TV series again from 1980. A great DVD box set is available. The House that Bled to Death is still shocking for childrens party scene (no spoilers here !).

I bought this box set a while ago for about £7, quite a bargain, and I enjoy most. It is like a cross over between the more old fashioned and modern horror, I think.

I think another 'disturbing' one is Charlie Boy, about the voodoo doll...

I'm pretty sure there were some shown on BBC something on Sunday mornings many years ago - I recall being at a mates house when it was on, years before Freeview and they didn't have any satellite stuff.

I recorded some of the stuff that's been on Radio 4 Extra (or BBC7 as it was) - a few radio plays, and I caught one thing called "Blakes 7 - the early years" which seemed to be about Jenna mainly. I find it hard to just sit an listen to radio stuff when I've recorded it on the freeview box, so I must get it onto something else and have a listen. Definitely much prefer "Zen" to "Slave" though.

I just haven't got the attention span to watch a series these days.
I know what you mean - I recorded all of "The Game", the BBC seventies spy thing, that will probably get deleted soon, same for a load of other stuff. If I can get into it enough to watch it an hour at a time when it's on, then fine. I certainly couldn't imagine watching a box set over a whole day or weekend.

I've lost count of the amount of times I've watched the first 2 series of Auf Wiedersehen Pet, they never get old for me and reckon I must watch them at least once every year or two -

Also, a while back I got a DVD from Ebay of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and his Friends" (all video transfers) - As soon as I hear the theme tune to that it takes me back to my old sofa in the house I grew up in, as soon as I got in from school. I used to absolutely love that series, and whilst it's badly acted, and very dated, it's so nostalgic for me.
