The PC lefties in the BBC were out to get him and his contretemps with his producer was all they needed after a litany of PC violations to get rid of him and don't forget Clarkson handed himself in which made their job all the easier. This is the same lot that let Savile get away with a lot worse but ignored it. Speaks volumes.

Fancy seeing double standards in a left wing organisation..... Its a slightly obtuse point though, but see where you are coming from and maybe that's now inherent - they did nothing with something so grave so now they have to be see to do something.

Yes he deserved to be punished, without doubt, but as most have said, he will bounce back, the fans will be punished as we'll have to pay a sky/Netflix subscription to see it. hey ho

The elephant in the room, Chrome dick wheels, the bunny hopping caravan on the rumble strip, pmsl. Childish, predictable but just right for a Sunday night 8pm slot, gonna miss it.
Clarkson's Fiat with the badge reading "F AT"...
And when Clarkson said ' the wheels are still on which is unusual for a car of yours', when they rolled Hammonds Jeep down the cliff rofl

Most TV shows/series have formats, Top Gear much less than most. Anyone who thinks this will improve with the arrival of Evans is deluded.
I used to love TG but take the rose tinted specs off for a moment; over the last ten or so series you have to have an exceedingly low IQ to find Hammond and Clarkson running into May's car stil funny, Every script was pretty much identical with the same characters in similar scenarios; rinse and repeat. The appeal target audience seemed to be under tens.

Am I wrong to want more; still want humour, still want fast cars in exotic locations, etc but thinly veiled double entendres and overt 'penis' gags appeals to the lowest common denominator, much like most threads on PH these days.

The BBC wrote off One Foot in the Grave after it had had its time. 'I don't belive it!' had stopped being a funny catch phrase a number of series previously. Why should TG be any different. Clarkson was bored of it otherwise he would not have reported himself for the assault.

What is safe to predict is that all the TG supporters on PH who cry foul when anyone has a negative comment about 'their favourite programme' will be here slating any new versions and we will have come full circle.

I look forward to the irony.

Totally agree with you.

Nought to sixty and back to nought was done in the states with oh yes a yank 4x4. Never seen them smash a caravan up either bloody hilarious. Not. Nothing knew in that episode.

Clarkson is however very clever by smacking the producer he is one step ahead of you all he probably wanted to finish it.

As Ronnie Barker said when he retired I have no more to give. It's better to get out on a high.

This is something that annoys me about the show. Is it for adults or for kids? It's supposed to be family entertainment yet they have alloy wheels with 12 stiff dicks on them or they donut cars to burn rubber in the shape of an erect member. I don't really like trying to explain what that stuff is to my 7 year old nephew who obsessively watches TG as the humour is otherwise perfect for him.

Its really funny the first series you see the recurring gag but still finding it funny when you not only have you seen it hundreds of times but you know exactly when the gag is coming wears thin.

But hey, if that floats your boat crack on. It must be great to have the comedic sensibilities of child.

Good point. Just goes to show that they had run out of ideas. I'm looking forward the new series to see what changes the BBC will make to the format smile

Well humour doesn't exist in the PC world that intellectuals inhabit. It's all so bloody serious there for childish pranks to be allowed to exist that quite a few find amusing. Glad I've got the IQ of a small moribund hedge dwelling rodent. Life is such fun in my little world.laugh

Of course. When I write my complaint into Points of View, I want it to be as accurate as possible.

I thought that final episode was pants. It was almost if it was done on purpose as I had enjoyed the final series.

Another load of dreary scenes of them traveling in convoy. Seen it too many times and actually got so bored I turned it off. I have never done that with Top Gear before and I still enjoy the reruns on Dave and BBC3.
