Got dragged out by her indoors on the pretext of a burger at the new five guys place on Kirkstall road Leeds.
Got there parked up only to be told , before i get to eat we are seeing the Minions in 3d at the cinema opposite. que me looking a bit pissed that i was going to have to endure a kids movie. Have to say i thought it was a great film ... not a classic by any standard but for an hour an a half of laughs and giggles i came out having thoroughly enjoyed it. anyon else seen it yet ?

Saw it the other day, thought it was OK in places but overall was quite poor.

To compare with other animated films I've seen that were released this year, I'd put it way behind Big hero 6, Home and Inside Out.

My lad loved it though, wife found it funny too.

no it isn't - it's funny enough and the kids loved it but it's not a classic

Bah, that is a pity. I was so looking forward to seeing this. Will wait for the Blu Ray in any event but still.

Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it - but then I wasn't expecting Godfather Pt2.

One of the best kids characters since the muppets IMO - Love the little buggers smile

Have been waiting months for release and it missed its mark big time. Despicable Me it is not.

You know how Toy Story has a very clever script that works on both adult and child levels - well this doesn't. Its terrible.

All the best bits were in the trailers - for instance the fire hydrant chat-up scene.

One for the kids - ONLY!

I'm going saturday to see this with mates. Not sure what to expect as I haven't see Despicable Me, but the trailer looked hilarious.

We all went to see this last night for my little one's birthday. None of us had seen the Dispicable Me films but I left thinking it wasn't that great. My daughter didn't seem to impressed either although she did sit still so I couldn't ask for more. The missus fell asleep and dropped the popcorn. A couple fingers to the rib cage sorted that st out.

I wasn't that impressed with Home either.

I want to see Inside Out. That looks quite funny from the trailer.

Is Dispicable Me a "classic" then? They have box sets in Co-Op for £11 at the moment.

Saw it on Friday.
I have to admit as much as I love a Minion I was a bit disappointed with the film.
Its not a bad film by any means but from the trailers I was expecting 90 mins of LOL. But as has been said 90% of the LOL moments are shown in the trailers.
It think the Minions would be better served by having a clip show of them in various situations and not having to worry about padding out a story between them.
Guess that is why they worked so well in Despicable me. Gru has the story rolling along then the Minions pop up to do the comedy intervals.

for me the trailers spoiled it frown My own fault for watching them I know but they showed a huge percentage of the good stuff.

Seems recently the trailers in a lot of movies totally ruin the full offering.

I've thought this lately. If I've found myself liking a trailer I've got to turn it off after about a minute so it doesn't ruin the ending.
