Like most people I get nostalgic about the wall to wall deluge of epicness that flowed from my parents telly in the 1980s and early 1990s.

Until I found this website. While it primarily acts as a resource to show you all about Radio Times, it tells you what was on Telly by day and by channel, for practically any date you chose (unless you want to look at ITV listings, which you can't as it's all a bit common).

Safe to say it's not QUITE as epic as I had remembered.

Interesting to see what was on telly at the moment of your birth though. fk all for me as I was born in the middle of the night.

Interesting. I liked the idea of looking up what was on when born.

Turns out it was a film about multi-racial Britain. Well at least in the past 36 years we no longer have any issues there....

The best item on TV the night I was born was some "Association Football" between England and the USSR.

Very interesting that the BBC chose to call the sport by its official and proper name.

I have " ski-flying" from Norway. I assume they mean ski jumping. But this was 1977...

Fascinating that, thanks smile

The peak time evening slot on my first day was:

THE HOOT'NANNY SHOW
The Corrie Folk Trio and Paddie Bell
The Spinners
Ray and Archie Fisher
Nadia Cattouse, Cyril Tawney

eek.

Check this out from October 1938. The BBC reads like an ITV4 schedule on a BTCC day:

14:25. Motor racing. From Crystal Palace
21:00 News
21:10 Play
22;25 news. Close

I know the BBC showed some of the old grand prix (including the Donington ones) but I cannot find a schedule for these. And they only showed them live, so I guess no BBc footage can possibly exist
