Non Car films with pretty decent cars?
Discussion
Recently watched Dancing Queen which stared Rik Mayall, Martin Clunes and Helena Bonham Carter.
Clunes drives about in a 205 Gti and Mayall a TVR Griffith which ends up being driven along Scarborough beach at the end.
This has made me wonder if there's any other non car/action films out there that use unusually cool cars?
A definite PH director I think!

Gattaca. A futuristic world where the heroine has a Citroen DS and the police patrol in Rover P6s.
I re-watched this a couple of nights ago with my boys as they like Sci-Fi and thought they'd enjoy (which they did) one of them commented on the cars as he knows I love the P6. We were discussing how it was cool they'd used classics but converted them to electric? Re-chargeable vehicles. couzens said:

Read a book by Rik Mayall a few years ago, in it he said all he wanted to do when he was young was earn enough to buy a green RS3100.Clunes drives about in a 205 Gti and Mayall a TVR Griffith which ends up being driven along Scarborough beach at the end.

Very sad day for me when he died.
A Star is Born with Streisand and Kristofferson had an original Ferrari Daytona Spyder, which is crashed and totalled in the film. In fact, the car had previously been involved in a wreck that had severely damaged the chassis. It was bought specifically to be crashed once more, this time on screen.

In The Man Who Haunted Himself, Roger Moore plays a character with two personalities, one of which drives a Lamborghini Islero.
And the other drives a Rover P5. Actually 2 as the first one gets written off in a crash on the M4 in West London. Interesting fact, the director of the film was killed in a car crash on the M4 in West London. Don't know the make of car though.Edited by Dr Jekyll on Tuesday 7th July 18:07
