Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman, driving a Ferrari Mondial. And although a fake, the Ferrari in Ferris Buellers Day Off is wonderful. Very amusing aside.

Not a film but the soap Eldorado had an Alpine Renault A610. Stunningly gorgeous. Probably one of the most beautiful cars ever to have a Renault engine and the bedroom car porn of those petrolhead teenagers who thought about cars.

They used to be a rare sight in the 90s but most seem to have gone the same way as the lead car in the soap.

Now a rarer sight than rare thing that there are very few of.

In the new AntMan film Michael Douglas drives a Spitfire.

And as I typed that, I remembered he drove a Morgan in the film War of the Roses. ( it was a sort of anti-romcom with Kathleen Turner)

TV Films but Columbo has some awesome cars on it owned by the murderers.

Ferrari California and Daytona for example. E type, plenty of old Bentley and rolls.

I remember my Nan had a tape of that at her house for some reason. Only bits I remember are watching the car chase over and over again, and the theme tune that just kept singing "Condorman". It's on Youtube, albeit in German

Recently watched Dancing Queen which stared Rik Mayall, Martin Clunes and Helena Bonham Carter.

Clunes drives about in a 205 Gti and Mayall a TVR Griffith which ends up being driven along Scarborough beach at the end.

This has made me wonder if there's any other non car/action films out there that use unusually cool cars?

A definite PH director I think!

I hadn't heard of this before, just watched the whole film. Similar in feel to Staggered another Martin Clunes film of the period where he played a groom struggling to get back to his wedding from a Stag do. Not such cool cars in this one though

Regards other films with cool cars,
-London Boulevard has a classic Range Rover (soft dash), Rolls Royce Cornich Convertible, Bentley Continental.

I loved Condorman!

It used to be on every Christmas which was good as I used to tape it & by the time the following Christmas came around the tape was pretty much worn out I'd watched it that muchlaugh
