Recently watched Dancing Queen which stared Rik Mayall, Martin Clunes and Helena Bonham Carter.

Clunes drives about in a 205 Gti and Mayall a TVR Griffith which ends up being driven along Scarborough beach at the end.

This has made me wonder if there's any other non car/action films out there that use unusually cool cars?

A definite PH director I think!

Honey I blew up the kid featured a Lotus Elan M100. It's the only movie I have seen that had that car in it.

And who can forget the opening sequence of Pretty Woman with the Lotus Esprit.

I re-watched this a couple of nights ago with my boys as they like Sci-Fi and thought they'd enjoy (which they did) one of them commented on the cars as he knows I love the P6. We were discussing how it was cool they'd used classics but converted them to electric? Re-chargeable vehicles.

I was watching The Business on Sky recently. For a low budget (£2 million) film they had some fun cars which showed life in the early 1980's well.

Bad Boys has the Porsche 964 Turbo and the AC Cobra.

A Star is Born with Streisand and Kristofferson had an original Ferrari Daytona Spyder, which is crashed and totalled in the film. In fact, the car had previously been involved in a wreck that had severely damaged the chassis. It was bought specifically to be crashed once more, this time on screen.

And the other drives a Rover P5. Actually 2 as the first one gets written off in a crash on the M4 in West London. Interesting fact, the director of the film was killed in a car crash on the M4 in West London. Don't know the make of car though.
