I wondered what happened to him, maybe his ego has shrunk along with his waist and he might be bearable now, I doubt it. Who he's getting in for sycophant duties - didn't he knob 'Comedy' Dave's Wife or something?

Oh, if you haven't guessed - not a fan, I sort of liked him early on, but as the years rolled on he became more miserable and more egocentric and far, far less in touch with his audience, the last time I heard him he was tearing into a recording Lana Del Rey did for the Live Lounge, it might have not been to his taste, but he sounded like every old aged has-been I've ever heard moaning about the 'music of today' and by god if I heard him bleat on about 'Parodies' again I might have driven straight into a bridge to make it stop.

This news made me happy, not because I am Moyles fan, but the fact that I think the current XFM guy Jon Holmes is terrible and will welcome the change.
Jon Holmes used to be good on 6 Music. Not heard him on XFM.

I think he's done a few films too.

He hasn't done too bad in the latest RAJARs: http://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/feb/04/chris...

For me, I listen as I used to which is to dip in and out. The production is not as slick as Radio 1, but Moyles is, well, Moyles.

As others have chipped in, let me do so too.

I am not a fan of Mr Moyles. I simply do not understand how or why this man is paid money to talk about things on the radio.

I find him boring, stupid, ill-informed, prejudiced and completely lacking in any whit or charm. I would prefer he sink without trace and was never heard of again.

He's still miles behind all the top stations. I wonder if those figures are high enough for the money that's gone into Radio X?

I do listen to him sometimes, but it really is like listening to him on Radio 1. Everything is the same. The time to move on a bit was long ago.

Johnny Vaughan is irritating most of the time. Why does he try to speak with the odd accent on Radio?

Also the two presenters that Radio X have on at the weekend are dreadful. I forget their names, but they give meat away as prizes.

I also don't think that the new music show every night is a good idea. That's a very niche audience going to tune in to listen to a lot of average music to hear one or two promising bands.

I liked Radio X at the start as it was fresh playing lots of good songs that didn't always get much airplay elsewhere. However the different music has ended up the same as they play the same tunes too often and haven't varied things enough. The Stone Roses love has gone too far with constant bumming up. Nothing but Thieves were getting too much plugs for a while as well.

Then there is the adverts. They appear to have more advert time than anywhere else, but they only have just a few advertisers. It's the same repetitive adverts over and over.

Radio X is getting a litte bit stale quickly.

Moyles has to be one of the least funny people of any media.

Stewart Lee sums him up perfectly: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1ir64q_stewart-l...

Sounds like he'd be ideal for new Top Gear.
