Who in hell's name is Albert?!? And how is that an anagram of Bernard? Another poster keeps mentioning Maud too?
No wonder you're all suprised by finale! You've invented your own characters

It was a sentient shade of purple called Mauve.

Are you talking about the Samurai?
They are nothing to do with the Native American's who attacked Thor's brother.
How is it when I say native Americans or Indians , you think I'm talking samurai?!They are nothing to do with the Native American's who attacked Thor's brother.

The way I interpreted that scene was that was Mauve breaking her programming and becoming fully concious. i.e. Meave was programmed to escape, but Mave didn't do that in the end, even though Maeve knew it was really her daughter, Maud made her own choice to go back.

Was Maeves escape to the train simply the beginning of another story - IE the cowboy in Dolores script?
Most was scripted, but she was meant to escape all the way onto the mainland. She chose to remain to look for her daughter, showing that she now has free will.If you get the chance to rewatch it, check the camerawork.
It is 'floating' steady cam always on Maeve. In all her scenes, down the escalator, to the train, on the train, and then 'bam', cut to handheld shaky-cam to show that she's now turned the corner and thinking of her own free will.
Couple of nice wee vids here

They're obviously all...a bit special.

But all Lost did was endlessly create new questions without answers, did stuff at random and nothing really tied together. There were moments of brilliance but it didn't go anywhere. Say for example The Constant which in itself is superb but is just a pointless fragment among all the others if you look at the whole series.
Yeah I know what you mean.. but, nonetheless, still my favorite show to this date hahaHalb said:
I think a few of us called them Medieval warriors when they first turned up and were a bit, 'Knights of Ni!'.

I wonder whether they might actually BE medieval warriors (and minotaur!) from other parks gone rogue, and in a classic Jurassic Park-esque Michael Crichton-y "hubris of man" plot device, Westworld command HQ knows the exact location and actions of every host... owned by Westworld. Medievalworld and Ancientgreeceworld and Whateverworldhosts aren't on the system since there was never expected to be any cross pollination. They're obviously all...a bit special.

Slightly off topic, but having finished the series I decided to rewatch the film last night. Apart from the special effects and computer control room looking rather dated it holds up very well. Brynner is brilliantly menacing, I love the way he walks in it. Well worth a watch if you've not seen it recently.
Interestingly despite the film being called Westworld, the park is referred to as Westernworld in it.

Except that it's awful. It contains some of the wrost acting I've ever seen in a movie, and Yul Brynner adds barely any menace.Interestingly despite the film being called Westworld, the park is referred to as Westernworld in it.

It is isn't it? Absolutely brilliant, and Brynner is exceptional. His knows his craft.Interestingly despite the film being called Westworld, the park is referred to as Westernworld in it.
