Very much this. What's to stop someone breaking a chair over another guests head and killing them? Or throwing them through a window? Or strangling them etc? Are they all given a "Safe word" to use to identify themselves should they come into conflict with another guest? Also, surely the novelty and excitement will wear off very quickly? Sure getting into gunfight over a game of cards in a saloon would be exhilarating at first but once you accept that you are bullet-proof and no harm can come to you - what's the point? Where is the thrill & excitement if there is no risk or danger? It's like playing a computer game with a God-mode cheat - amusing at first but soon becomes boring as there is no challenge and therefore no risk/reward. It would be better if perhaps the hosts had stun guns or such and if you got shot you'd wake up in the jail cell and lose a day.

Also, if a guest guns down 5 hosts in the morning, surely all the story arc's involving those hosts are now ruined? "I was supposed to be going on a raiding party with the Sheriff but someone killed him and his deputies so now I'm left with nothing to do." Alternatively, a host gets scribbled, they are repaired and then back in the same place/story line the next day. So every day is just "Groundhog Day" when it resets at midnight?

I appreciate that I'm required to suspend my disbelief and I'm enjoying the show but it doesn't seem particularly well thought out. It would make more sense if all the guests arrived on the same day and the story lines ran for say 2 weeks, then the guests leave, everything is reset and then new guests arrive.
been posted already, they all sign a contract - http://www.slashfilm.com/westworld-map-and-contrac...

"Statistically speaking, you are more likely to die from lightning strike than to die while in a Delos park. However, the following causes of accidental death have occurred within the Delos Destinations compound: buffalo stampede, self- cannibalism, accidental hanging, drowning, 3rd-degree burns, autoerotic asphyxiation, blunt force trauma, allergic reaction to non-native plant life, falling from great heights, common manslaughter, tumbleweeds. You absolve Delos, Inc. of any wrongdoing if you or anyone in your party suffers bodily harm while using The Service, and you agree to not sue or prosecute Delos, Inc. or any of the smaller entities falling under the Delos Corporation."
There is nothing in the contract which says how you identify a guest from a host. Just that Delos accepts no liability for any harm you suffer and that they reserve the right to pass on details to outside authorities. So effectively you could be prosecuted for murder if you kill a guest (which you have no way of identifying from a host) and that Delos will be in no way accountable should this happen. So you're all given a gun (it states how important choosing your weapon is) and you are encouraged to live out your fantasies but if you kill a guest by mistaking them for a host, you're on your own (even though the whole point is that hosts are indistinguishable from guests)?

Would probably make more sense to cover the terms of the contract in the show, rather than have to search for it on the web...

The company may well check if any applications for the holiday park come from convicted murderers, serial paedophiles etc I suppose.

If the future is even more health and safety than it is now perhaps people booking holidays at Westworld are doing so because they like the danger.

That some aspects of the park haven't been explained does not mean that they won't, or can't, be.

Regarding the story lines - they have suggested that there are multiple redundancies, and we have seen the hosts behaviours can be manipulated to accommodate the loss of characters.

I watched the first 2 episodes on the xbox sky player. Just looked at Sky Atlantic for this evening and it says it's S1 ep2 which will be one that I've already seen.

I presumed it would be ep3 if anyone knows.

At least 15 guests arrived if each guest is assigned a host greeter each.

The film has been around for over 40 years, had the exact same 'issue' (even more so in fact, as the other two worlds had only manual hand-held weapons such as swords and knives) and was never explained.

It's an interesting thing to think about, but they don't have to explain it.

Considering the cost and exclusivity, I'm still puzzled why there was that family, Parents and a kid, just wandering along the river in the first episode.

Just go to your nearest park biggrin

Nevertheless, looking forward to tonight's episode.

Do you expect everyone visiting just to spend their time shagging and shooting robots? smile

I have my Sky box recording it. Going to watch it tomorrow when I have the house to myself. No interruptions, not even the cats.

You are presuming they are guests, but I presumed they were hosts, and the holiday bit was narrative. Innocents for black hat guests to slaughter. The boys meeting with Hopkins seems to confirm it. The boy weirds out with snake charming trick. So the stop words can include gestures.

That was the best episode so far, it's all proper kicking off now. I'm still a bit confused but I guess that's the point.
