Mark Kermode made a good point this morning, he couldn't remember the last film before Deadpool that made him laugh consistently from beginning to end with almost nothing falling flat

Judging by the screening I was in that was true for most (including me).
That's interesting.

Does MK have a radio show?

Weekly, for the past decade. And it's one of the BBC's most downloaded podcasts.

Do you have the channel and time, please?

In this age of Google, I figure one of us just missed a whoosh parrot.

.. And 'Hello' to Jason Issacs.

Ok, assuming it's a genuine question, it's on BBC Radio 5 Live. Friday 14:00, with an edited version repeated Saturday 20:30.
However, the podcast is where the humour is.

Thank you. I'm on a phone and not meant to be, smile
I used to like Kermode when he popped up on C4 before a little known film. I enjoy his thoughts even if I don't always agree.

another massive 'thumbs up' from me, well judged, very funny (starts off on a good note with the opening credits), quite sombre in places, very dark. I must admit yhough that I'm surprised it was only a 15... frequent sexual references, full frontal shaved nudity, gore.

We had a kid in our screening last night who couldn't have been more than 10.

My nephew (who is 9) is a massive comic book nerd and absorbs every movie, he is fully aware of Deadpool and I'm sure would love to see it, but there is no way on earth he is seeing this film for many years.
I took my son yesterday for the film (he's also 9 and comic book fan), and felt very uncomfortable throughout it. Had to do a lot of explaining to him afterwards. It all spoiled the enjoyment I would have if he wasn't there. I took the risk, and now definitely wouldn't recommend to take kids.

What did you expect?!

You took a 9yr old to a 15 film that barely scraped being a 15, could easily have been an 18. Why did they even let him in?

Agreed. Naive parenting by the sounds of it. In this day I don't know why 18s exist. It's a sure fire way to kill a films takings. Look at judge Dredd. An epic film but 18 so no one saw it ( I acknowledge this is in part due to it being criminally under marketed).

Pretty shocking a 9 year old was allowed in. Ratings aren't for fun!

TBF Conan the Barbarian (1982 flavour) was only a 15 and that was (from memory) quite mild in comparison

Moved on where? My childhood films were mostly gory/scary stuff like Aliens, Terminator, Robocop and the like, so as to many kids of my generation. We haven't become murdering perverts en masse, you see. Violence is not the reason I felt disturbance, it's the nature of some jokes. He loved it, though.
