Just saw it in Imax, I must be getting old because good lord it was loud.

Loved the film from the beginning, plot line wasn't inspiring but it didn't need to be. Thought Ryan Reynolds was a spot on casting for the role, his delivery of almost every line seemed great. It did the whole genre parody brilliantly too imo.

Will grab it on blu-ray when released, which is unusual for me- not one to watch things twice.

Ryan cast himself as Deadpool. He has be working on getting this filmed for nigh on 9 years! This was his baby. Deadpool 2 is gonna have 1 helluva big budget I reckon.

Anyone think with Huge jackman saying he want's the public to give inspiration to his last outing as Wolverine that Deadpool would make a great addition to this movie.

Saw it last night. I thought it was way too cheesy for my liking and I just didn't find the jokes as funny as everyone else seems to. There were a lot of people laughing in our cinema, but I didn't find it laugh out loud funny. I felt it was one of those that are spoilt by too many jokes being shown in the trailers. An average 6/10 from me. Was worth watching because I do normally enjoy the superhero movies, perhaps I'm just getting a little bored of them now.

ETA - Best Stan Lee cameo yet though.

This is what you get when the actor is a huge fan of the comic book character, and wants to see a true representation as much as the rest of us, not some modified by Hollywood committee.

The 1st versions of Deadpool and Dredd were such by committee things.

2nd time around how ever we proper versions

Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool.

Karl Urban is Dredd.

Both actors are huge fans of the characters they played, before they were even actors.

What does it say? Deadpool is on its opening weekend, most of the other films are not.
In a multiplex near us Deadpool was being shown in 7 screens with 6 viewings a day, Star Wars for example was in one screen.

Its very popular and will take way more money than some of the dross in that list for sure. But it wont out do Star Wars.

And what was Star Wars' budget compared to Deadpool's budget? Deadpool is a relative unknown compared to the behemoth that is Star Wars, so not sure why you are even comparing them.

Hmm, torn over that. Wolverine has been horribly horribly overused and overexposed by Fox, because he is the only character that resonates with the public (for various reasons alluded to in the below quote).

If Deadpool 2 can stay the same character as the first, and suit involvement is nulled, then Jackman could be used intelligently....a small cameo like the first X-Man reboot film might be good? I keep thinking of Airplane! for some reason.

Saw it on saturday night as the tail end to my stag do, we all laughed like drains, particularly at the free way overpass scene with the 'tyrannosaurus' bit.

Excellent humour throughout, a tight sharp script, proper, adult humour tied into the history of deadpool, good Stan lee bit, and Colossus was finally Russian, instead of the 'random muscley C actor' of previous films.

Very glad to hear a sequal is in production, and i hope they keep it the same level of adult theme that was in this one and dont pander to the 12-A PG13 brigade\marketing groups.

If deadpool carries on, there may be hope for a 15 cert Dredd2.

It's $58m movie with a relatively modest (but very clever) marketing campaign, that many in the business thought was a massive, massive gamble. I'd say an estimated $260m global weekend opening is immensely impressive.

It's already notching up a fair few records...

Largest February Thursday
Largest opening day in February
Largest single day in February
Largest President's Day Weekend
Largest R-Rated Opening Weekend

Largest opening ever for 20th Century Fox (who had a little trilogy now known as the Star Wars prequels on their hands)

Bob made it in! There weren't many people in the cinema who got the reference, but one of the reasons I thought it was a great film.

The die-hards would love those things, but it was just a great stand-alone film you didn't need to have read the comics.

Those records are a bit hollow though aren't they? What next, largest 6-8PM slot, on the 8th Thursday of a leap year?

I dunno, it basically covers off anything ever released in February, which isn't bad going for what was once assumed to be a very niche film with a rating that is often written off as being able to pull in big crowds.

An R-rated film as a major studios biggest ever opening is promising for the future in my opinion, once one film breaks the mould others usually follow.

This, I hate that most modern films are watered down to make them watchable for 12 year olds. I really like the fact that this film is adult in theme, tone and action and I hope it's the beginning of a return to proper adult films. As an example the adult themes and violence are what made the original Robocop for me, the new remake felt like a video game aimed at 10 year olds in comparison. I hope this film gives Hollywood a kick in the teeth to not sanitise the crap out of everything.

Loved it. Saw it to kill some time between jobs last week and then took my daughter to see it again last night.

Cinema was packed and everybody was laughing. Not been in that sort of situation since Life of Brian.

How did a previous poster gat his 9 year old in? Our local Cineworld is hot on age checking.

My 13 year old son couldn't get in and he's the same size as me, 6ft.
