Saw a headline yesterday that confirms the next Wolverine movie will be R rated too. Bring on the gore!

Yeah, the popularity of this movie has moved a few more projects forward as the studios really didn't know if it would be popular.

The danger here is that they try to copy it and make a hack job of it - Likewise the sequel. If that has a big budget, there's a risk they end up trying too hard...

Ryan Reynolds was already Wade Wilson once as Weapon XI in the Xmen origins: Wolverine film - he was the one without the mouth - there was a line when he was getting cancer treatment when he said "don't stictch up my mouth, you wouldn't like me like that" (or something thereabouts). This was the toy character he was playing with early in the film too.
Yep I know this and spotted the nods to it in the film but I try to blank out the Origins film as much as possible as I thought it was terrible. smile

Hopefully they'll make a better effort of Deadpool Vs Wolverine in a new one.

Con: Oxygen doesn't blow up. It supports other combustion. That match should have flared up and burned much more quickly, not set off an explosion. Also, that grille next to it should have been a pretty good flame trap anyway.
what about a guy with no healing powers only doesn't feel pain is somehow still fully functioning after being stabbed through with a sword after taking a huge beating. Being pain free does not stop you exsanguinating all over the floor. He also gets shot in the thigh hit by a container and stabbed through again after yet more beating. Plenty more to go on too like that woman's powers, she is strong so how does that stop her breaking bones or let her take punches from metal men? Just enjoy the ride and go with it. Take brain out

Thing is, I'm 100% happy with your reply to my con in general, it's just that the bit I suggested can't be explained away with "mutant" like the rest can, so jarred me out of the world a bit.

I also 100% agree with your pro... especially the all-too-brief seconds where we see more than ever before wink

There's a damn sight more of her on the interweb than that! Search for a naked photoshoot she did to promote V. It's, erm, nice. biggrin

A guy with 100% regenerative powers versus a guy who has no feeling. Good fight.
I don't think it was too bad that Ajax kept going, he'll obviously need some ibuprofen later, for the inflammation. biggrin
In marvel strength types usually have some sort of superior bone structure. I looked at the comic version, seems she's a tad different from that.

Yep Ajax has undergone a similar process to Deadpool, everyone's powers manifest differently but he has enhanced strength, reflexes and feels no pain so it's not too much of a stretch to imagine he can recover quicker from wounds too.

As for the lovely Ms Baccarin, she has indeed shown quite a bit more previously, google is your friend. No need to thank me. smile

so i google dp vs wolverine and it appears dp beats wolv 3-1, my question is, would dp be able to survive a vat of acid?

I don't see DP winning. Once he's out of bullets he's finished. Wolverine could eat his heart, you can't resurrect from a colon. biggrin

I can't see DP winning either. Full adamantium skeleton including 4 honking great retractable short-swords on each hand plus a regenerative power (probably) equal to DP.

Hang on a sec, don't they both have very similar healing powers? Unless you destroy the body completely by dropping them into a lake of magma or something, surely it would be a stalemate?

Isn't that what's referred to as a 'secondary super power'. That's what they do to explain these things away. Otherwise it would be rubbish having super-strength if your bones shattered when you tried to lift a car. Or super-speed you couldn't use because of the air friction and impact on your joints.

I think so. I often wish I could fly...but then the power of flight would be pretty useless without some sort of suit to keep out the cold, and an oxygen mask and other bits and pieces... hehe

Saw it yesterday -
(with my 14.5 year old daughter. Signs all over, specifically for Deadpool, about it being a 15 and possibly needing ID... the list included driving licence! There's not much ID a 15 year old has, unless they've been abroad in the last 10 years. Anyway, avoided any aggro by picking up pre-booked tickets and simply walking past the queue and into the screen wink )
- loved it, daughter loved it. Wife will love it when we go again wink
I seemed to be the only person laughing at a lot of the jokes though, cinema was full of teenagers (3pm showing) and I'm not sure they got a lot of it... ho hum.

Stand out con and pro, for me:

Con: Oxygen doesn't blow up. It supports other combustion. That match should have flared up and burned much more quickly, not set off an explosion. Also, that grille next to it should have been a pretty good flame trap anyway.

Pro: What, hey, no.... oh yes! That's the Ferris Bueller ending! smilesmilesmile

Heh my pro would definitely be the bird playing Angel (the woman who fights with Colossus, who I am sure, isn't always in that form...only transforms when he needs to, guess budget for that kind of CGI and an actual actor?)

Sometimes Colossus has gotten 'stuck' in metal form.
Plus they've never bothered with an actor for him before...there are few on the ground in that bracket. I think this is the best version of Colossus we have seen.

He is briefly in some of the X-men movies in both forms, but only ever momentary shots where he's not really the main focus.

I cannot wait to see what they do with Cable.
