Does anyone know the official reason the sequal was never made? I thought one had been planned.

No need.

The US realised their foreign policy regularly caused more harm than good, actors realised their opinions weren't actually more valid than anyone elses, and North Korea saw how its isolationist policies were causing massive suffering and so they opened themselves up to the world and we all lived happily ever after.

Also if you can find the uncut version, the sex scene goes on for a hell of a lot longer than the cinematic release, with a few positions you only see on those romantic movies on the internet.

A friend of mine bought that version of it while on holiday somewhere with lax copyright laws, the sex scene is hideous. Nobody else I know has seen that version though.

I've seen the extended sex scene, it is pretty grim and IIRC there is also poo involved.

Why don't you trust actors, Chris?

More sense in this speech than in many a newspaper editorial.

The first time I watched it I thought it was good but not great, but then giving it a second watch I laughed so hard, must have missed a few jokes first time round and realised that it was supposed to be 'bad' in a way ie visible puppet strings and silly movements, also it's gotta be one of the most quotable films ever along with snatch!
Think I'm gonna give it a watch tonight!

The 'kung fu' fight scene with the puppets just flailing away has me in stitches every time.

The scene where Spotsworth is saying how dangerous the mission is going to be etc. and says 'you may want to take your own life..... here take this' and hand Gary a hammer, I thought I was going to die laughing!
What makes it funnier is that it's a manky old hammer repaired with black insulation tape on the handle that everyone has somewhere in their shed.
