Last one I watched was the Danish series "forbrydelson" aka the killing. Really enjoyed that.
The Bridge? Very good, there is a thread on here about it.
I was about to suggest 'The Bridge' too, the first series was so good, still to watch the second.

Might be worth looking at the original 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' series as well.

Southland, very good police series. Hugely underrated.

Killed by the TV networks sadly.

The film 'End of Watch' is very similar and worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

Burn Notice is a bit uneven but great fun from season 1-3 - worse after that.
Person Of Interest is incredibly good.

Person of Interest has to be considered but be a bit patient with it. It starts as though it is going to be formulaic etc but it really builds u to a series of twists and turns minor back stories becoming anything but and good character developments. Good bit of (dark, dry) humour aswell

I've seen one episode but was a bit undecided on it. Does it improve?

Justified tops my list and Burn Notice is fun too.
If you like Burn Notice, The Americans is a good series. Interesting look at American/Russian relations in the 80s, but still pretty silly smile

Plus Keri Russell's in it lick

Just couldn't get into BB, nothing really happens.
You must have watched a different BB to me then. In 5 series there were maybe 5 padding/filler episodes (though arguably they focused on character development) but the rest were solid gold.
I am struggling as well - got through the first three episodes and not relly getting the "I must watch the next one" feeling.

Unusual for me, as I loved The Sopranos, The Wire etc.
Same here. Watched the first couple of seasons and couldn't work out what all the fuss was about. Well aware I'm in the minority on that though.

Not seen it mentioned on here yet so I'll offer up Netflix's excellent 'Daredevil' + happily second all of Halb's suggestions above, apart from BB obviously , oh and True Blood (referred to as 'Twilight with tits' in my household) smile

BB is a last minute addition, added because I've just watched the whole thing thanks to Spike, and it really works watching it in that time frame. To ensure it's permanent addition I'd have to watch it a second time, I hear there is a stuff to pick up on, always a bonus of a repeat viewing.

True Blood is the weakest addition there for sure, but I do love how it deals with social mores through the crazy world of vamps, it's so funny too. biggrin

Sons of Anarchy is now available on sky boxsets..it'll take me forever to dload them...but I'll try.

Just finished episode 2 of "Better Call Saul". Actually enjoying it more so far than BB.

But my recommendation would go to Spartacus. Fantastic.

That's my favourite series, absolutely loved all three of them.

Another vote for The Bridge and Hinterland. Currently watching the best series to come out of the USA for a long time (IMHO), Chicago PD, it's brilliant.

I'll tell you one euro-cop drama that hasn't been mentioned is Salamander

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salamander_(TV_ser...

We loved it and are still waiting for the next series, basic premise is....

Bank robbed but only certain safety deposit boxes are stolen
Bank doesn't want to let the police or public know
Gritty hard drinking Belgian cop hears about it and goes looking
st hits the fan.

The series flits between wartime Belgium and present day establishing a link between the old 2nd world war elite and some serious corruption today.

Utterly superb in our opinion, and has the bonus of case being solved at the end of the series albeit with a hint of what the next season will be about.

Not really a TV buff but was recommended Bridge 2 and was totally gripped. Great story, great characters.

Bridge 1 must be good then if supposedly better! What's the best way to get to watch it, DVD or is that old hat these days?

I've watched all of SOA. Very silly at times and often utterly OTT but good fun and some great characters. The early season are the best IMHO.
