I wrote Black List off after watching the trailer. I had the impression I'd already seen the first season. I might add it to the list.

Having watched a couple of episodes each of Justified and Sons of Anarchy I find the love for them on here mystifying.

Both were badly acted, cliche ridden, over stylised ste IMHO.

Enjoyed The Bridge though smile

SOA is just as you say. Every character is a horrible human being, Jax the 'hero' of the series being the worst.

Charlie Hunnam (sp?) Plays Charlie Hunnam just the same as he does in Pacific Rim, but with a st Yank accent.

I watched all 7 series in 6 weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. (Except most of the series set in N Ireland), although the shots of the bikes riding through the lush greenery and arriving at a barn in the scrubland of California wete amusing.
The Bridge was great
Arne Dahl - abailable on Netflix - was also very good.

I've said it before. Sons of Anarchy is the A-Team for adults. Its naff and its unrealistic in most places but for some reason it's pretty easy to watch.

You need to forget season 1 of justified, its quite entertaining but it was random and didn't flow like the rest almost like they weren't sure they would be given the green light to continue. Season 2 onwards and it becomes exceptional in every way

SOA isn't bad, but it gets very repetitive after a while

I got bored with Black List, stoped watching after a while.

Justified starts off as a basic US cop show, but somewhere along the way, it morphed into something really cool, not sure if that was the first series or the second. If you've only watched two episodes of Justified, you cannot create a worthwhile opinion.

Agree on the Shield and Breaking Bad. Both excellent.

Other series I have enjoyed very much are:
Sons of Anarchy
Mad Men
The Sopranos
The Newsroom
Suits
Orange is the New Black
Lilyhammer

currently watching season one of Person of Interest - good so far!

Watched the first episode of the bridge last night and enjoyed it!
Glad you're enjoying it, you certainly can't take your eyes from the screen that's for sure. Where did you find it? Are you watching it in the correct order (there are two series)? Although it doesn't really matter.
The interaction between the two main characters is just excellent, the stuff she gets up to and the way he looks at her sometimes is such superb acting. He doesn't need to say anything, the bemusement is written all over his face.
Apparently there will be an S3, but it's said he isn't in it which is a shame.

I watch very little TV, but........

The Bridge is darned good. Another I found compelling was Orphan Black. The 3rd series is being released later this year I beleive.

Currently running on the Beeb is Odyssey , which is panning out to be very compelling. Need to make haste though, the first episode goes off iplayer soon.

Of course it matters!!! If you see series 2 you'll know how series 1 ends, it will give away the big climax!

The British version is good too.

Just running through Generation Kill, damned good. Utterly compelling. My favourites would include
Band of Brothers
The Wire
The Killing
The Bridge 1&2
Southland (why they snuffed that one is beyond me)
Spiral

agree with votes for The Killing, The Bridge, Generation Kill, Breaking Bad. If you like those, then you may like...

Wallander? The original, not the Kenneth Brannagh, although that's good, the original is darker. Best before Krister Henriksson left.
Borgen? Political drama. Vote Sidse Babette Knudsen!
Cordon. Just finished t'other week. Not as good as those above, but not too shabby...

plenty to be getting on with now the nights are closing in...probably

I finished the bridge and really enjoyed it. I'm currently about 10 episodes through the shield and must say I think it's great!

Thanks for the recommendations everyone!
