So, apparently amazon prime have signed the old top gear team and we can expect to see them on our screens next year.
Except, how do I get that on my screen, and what does it cost?
Not sure about having to subscribe to some other service just for this, in fact I'll take some persuading.

I was hoping for Netflix as I wanted that anyway for 'Better Call Saul'. I'm tempted to sign up to Prime now before Amazon up the price at the end of the year for CHM show

At least it'll stop all BBC haters and the thousands of people who watched their old show just so they could whinge about it from cluttering the place up.

I did one of amazon's free trials for Prime and as far as I could see it was a waste of money. Anything free was either recent stuff that hadn't done so well (so it was free) or shows/movies that were so old you can see them being re-run weekly on tv. £80 a year plus extra on top to get the best latest shows and movies?
Id be interested to know how many people watched Top Gear because it was easy (on bbc etc, licence fee already paid) and then how many of them will actually want to splash out on Prime just to watch them.

That use to be the case, but it's improved significantly in the last few years, and it's certainly on par with Netflix in terms of service and increasingly content as well. And if you're a Prime subscriber it's essentially free.GoodDoc said:

I'd tend to agree that £80/year for prime instant video (without TG) might not be worth it, but video is just one part of the prime package. They have recently added music streaming for UK subscribers and the next day delivery is great - when priced similarly I buy most stuff from Amazon now if it's available on prime (which is what they are hoping for)

Why is Amazon a spaceship and BBC a biplane? It's not as if they were short of budget.
My wife bought a 6 month membership when it was discounted as part of Black Friday. It was ok, most of the stuff you'd actually want to watch cost extra- for example seasons 1 & 2 of The Walking Dead were free, season 3 was £1.50 an episode (and weirdly Vic Reeves Big Night Out suddenly went from being free to costing £1.50 an episode). Once the 6 months finished we cancelled and went back to Netflix.

My Prime subscription pays for itself with the free next day delivery anyway, so I regard the TV and music as free bonuses.

I think it also means you can get your Chinese, plastic tat delivered quicker.
But my understanding of Prime is that there is also premium ppv content in there also? So not sure if this show would be free under the basic subscription or ppv.
