But that's precisely the point. There are a million better car chases you could watch if you're happy to watch the same thing over and over...why pick bullitt? It's a pretty poor example of a car chase IMO.
Im not saying I would watch it over and over, but in my 44 years I have probably seen it more times than someone not into cars.

I don't think The Driver is a great film or a great chase but I can see me sometime in the future, possibly years in the future watching it again or maybe the second chase scene, sod it I might watch it again now.

Oh sorry, I misunderstood then. I thought you were saying you liked to watch films that you've already seen. My logic being that if I've seen a st one, I'm unlikely to watch it again (not that I think Bullitt is but the car chase is, and doesn't bare repeated viewing IMO).

When I was a kid I'd watch stuff like Raiders and Top Gun again and again, I could literally quote them word for word. I hardly ever watch films more than once these days, no idea why.
I'm much the same; in my youth I would watch favourite films lots of times but as I've grown up I realised quite how very many films there are to be watched. Of course they can't all be excellent, but there's no way to find out without trying. And some of them could be wonderful.

It was mentioned a little earlier in the thread about car chases - Bullitt and The Driver - well, I watched one of the most exciting chases I've ever watched this week, in Rogue Nation, at the cinema. I could have stayed at home and watched something familiar, but by doing that I would have sorely missed out.

I take every opportunity I can to watch films I've never seen before. To me, it's daft not to.

Apollo 13 - time and again. Good every single time.

Aliens - awesome. Still looks amazing in HD thanks to being before CGI. The part where the Alien rises up out of the water behind the little girl. If that doesn't scare the crap out of you nothing will.

There are a few others...but not in the "again and again every time they're on" category.

When I saw this thread the first film I immediately thought of

Con Air! (I know it's cheesy as hell but I love it!)

Followed by:

Aliens
Back to the Future (1st one)
Some James Bond Films
Lots of 80's teen movies (Breakfast club, St Elmo's Fire, Say Anything etc)
Jsws
Ghostbusters
The Princess Bride
New Tron
Stephen King's The Stand

There will be others I'm sure.

Oh and whilst not quite film but I still watch time and again:

Columbo

I suppose if you're pissed a lot then it makes sense to rewatch films, you probably don't remember the plots.
define a lot
If, when watching a film, you're normally pissed then you either watch too many films or drink too much!

For me its 2001: A Space Odyssey; must've watched it about 100 times, but the attention to detail and general atmosphere of the film makes it so watchable. Kubrick was a complete genius.
