Flora has consistently been 2nd or 3rd for the technical challenge and generally very good (this week aside). She's clearly a VERY talented baker, just has to get what she does right and she would win.

As much as Ian annoys me (no reason, totally irrational annoyance) his stuff has been brilliant in almost every task.

I thought Ugne was a good baker - she has the skills, I think she just tries to do too much or over-complicate stuff to her disadvantage.

Other chap should've gone IMO but he'll probably be out next week.

Anyone else really like Paul, not Hollywood. It's like watching your dad bake, the difference being instead of it coming out burnt to a crisp & him swearing like a trooper, it comes out edible and reasonably presented.

Both Iain and Paul are laid back, which is what makes their baking pretty good in my opinion

Not as good as some years but always enjoy the show. Mel & Sue always make me laugh with their little comments.

Agreed with Tamal as star baker and Mat to go. So, Flora, Ian, Nadiya, Paul and Tamal left, 3 for the final. Any guesses for who makes it?

My 3 who I hope get through are different to the 3 I think will do it. Hope its Flora, Nadiya and Paul, think it might be Ian, Tamal and Nadiya. Tough choice.

2 hour lunch break. That is nasty. The challenges are getting frankly ridiculous. The contestants are amateurs and some of the things they are expected to bake would be a challenge for a professional pastry chef.

GBBO is a rare exception for me, in that I actually prefer the celebrity version. Normally they are a show killer for me, but in this case, they either tend to be total cooking noobs, or really rather good home cooks. Either way, their mistakes tell this particular noob more about baking than any number of (pro in all but name) amateur bakers. I seem to recall at the beginning of this series, we were told that several of them had been on pretty high flying cookery courses, so they aren't exactly average amateurs.

They are inevitably going to run out of baking ideas, but for the time being I still find it a really good piece of entertainment. Long may it last!
