Fear the walking dead.
Discussion
As predicted, they are exterminating anyone outside the safe zone living or not. These aren’t suicides like I assumed, I went on the Fear the walking dead website and it said so. http://www.amc.com/shows/fear-the-walking-dead/epi...
I guess they a) are experimenting on the ill people or b) killing them knowing that the virus comes out in the dead.
I suspect the next episode they will hatch a plan to get the ill people back, use the army guy that’s pumping that lassie as a means to get out then raid the base and get through a military zone with ease where they will discover the truth.

It seems to me as if we've skipped an episode. So we have the beginnings of an outbreak, signs of a cover up and a riot (standard occurrence in LA). So far so good. But now the city is empty, they're in a fenced off safe zone, rumours of an infection yet everyone seems to be going along with it? Where are the hoards of walkers, scenes of chaos or pitched battles? Why are the main characters nonplussed about having encountered them? Wouldn't people have uploaded phone footage to explain what was happening? I can see the government wanting to hide it but wouldn't a few of the soldiers have doubts or want to get back to their families? Did no one hear all that gunfire? None of this makes sense
Having watched the sneak peek of ep5 on the AMC website it seems like your last point about the soldiers are about to happen.in reality all you need to do is watch the first, and last episode of any American series.
1st fills you in, the next 4 are utter garbage and they spend the 4 weeks going no where. The final one they spunk all there budget on a wow show with a cliff hanger.
if the bbc done this id be over in 12 episodes and actually be worth watching.

Does feel like they missed an episode, I can kinda see where they're going by sending some characters to this camp / centre, but I think it would've been good if we saw the fence going up, and perhaps one of the main characters was stuck on the wrong side when it was built, so we'd be following those inside and those outside, a sort of contrast and struggle to get back together.
I dunno, I'm so bored I'm just making up my own story arcs. I won't be pursuing this once TWD returns.

I guess I'm easily pleased now up to date having just watched ep4.
I'm quite enjoying it, well shot and acted, yes there will be plot holes - name me one series that doesn't?
Too many bedroom critics who form an opinion before the show has panned out on here it seems.
For the poster who said there's too much other stuff to watch, please enlighten me as I have run out lol!

6) The military have decided to waste enormous amounts of resources keeping people confined to a fenced area. The best course of action would be to move the 'safe' people to a properly-run and designated zone - let's say, oh, a military base? - where scales of economy come into play. That way you don't need to provide sporadic power, food and medicine packages and a 24/7 patrol for such a relatively small number of people.
I suspect that our characters are in fact in a quarantine zone rather than a safe zone, due to the fact that there were some infected around when the military showed up. They're now being studied to see if the infection spreads and obviously sick people are being taken to a separate facility for further 'treatment and tests' i.e. to be experimented on.Areas that were overrun with infected have been 'sterilised' by the military with everyone in them put down, zombie or normal person alike (as we saw in the episode). Areas that were untouched have seen the population evacuated to 'proper' FEMA style 'safe zones' like sports stadiums or large buildings or military bases.
Obviously this seemingly 'under control' situation will all go to hell by the end of the season as they will want a cliffhanger and we know from TWD that early safe zones inevitably fall under the weight of the undead.
Seems a bit contradictory, outside of the fence those masked soldiers seem to have been killing people left and right, yet in this little suburb where at least 2 walkers have been and a couple people have died, they're being sheltered and looked after..
I still think they missed a great chance to introduce a character during the 'exterminations' / fences going up. Even half an episode of someone being on the other side, playing cat and mouse with those death squads and evading infected would've added some much needed action and pace to the series. Instead we have jogging, dish washing and wall painting

I'm going to be disappointed if the last episode doesn't end with them all dead. So far they've shown zero aptitude for survival so it's the only outcome that makes any sense. That way we can introduce new characters who are actually worth watching.
So far the most impressive bit is that they've made a zombie apocalypse slow and boring, I was looking for more of a 'Dawn of the Dead remake first 30 minutes' type thing, just without the running zombies.
I haven't stopped watching yet, lucky season one is only 6 episodes or I might not make it to the end. If it was 15 (?!) like the next season is supposed to be I don't think I'd make it.
