And Travis doing the screwed up eyes thing which seems to stand for sad/angry.
And what a bunch of xxxx leaving the gate open.
The US army is totally incompetent.
And how did it suddenly become morning?
And they split the group up (again).
Do all soldiers suddenly become a bit rapey it these situations?

To make a point on someone else's post, I do think that it would be kind of cool if the characters met up with the other characters from The Walking Dead.
At the current rate the only way they're going to meet Rick and crew is as a shuffling group of corpses.

Why did they think a program around the beginning of the outbreak would be best served by following yet another small group of people with no idea of what's happening? Surely the full horror of the situation would have been better served watching it (at least in part) from the state/military viewpoint with something happening where they don't understand what started it, everything is coming apart regardless of what they try and the descent into desperation and anarchy? Especially as you'd see more of the world coming apart, not just a bad weekend in LA.

Or at least have one character who was involved in the attempts at containment - there must have been plenty of army/police/medical types who were involved but not enough to drag one in as a core character early on?

Whereas a few not very bright suburban types without a clue is what we got stuck with.

Cheap to film.

Ep.6 was far better than the previous 5, it must be said.

But I still feel no empathy for the characters, they're just really badly written..

Couldn't agree more.

It was the usual 'let's kill one of the main characters,' but who cares.

Where did he corral all those walkers from?

I think he went back and broke the chains on the stadium doors. Bit harsh to just release them and kinda leave the other survivors and suburbanites to deal with it, just to get one over on the military..

So I thought I'd see it through, I hate quitting on something. However - what a load of st!

I've worked out what annoys me; any real concern for the peril they're in goes out the window the second one of them does something utterly retarded and I end up hoping the zoms get them.

I won't bother starting S2 just so I don't feel obligated to finish it.

episode 6 was much better but what steaming pile of st.

5 wasted episodes, a leg that fell off, a few dead people, characters doing what they have to do to survive, a complete lack of understanding yet again as to why this is happening.

It literally was the same as the walking dead but with more sun and a different leg falling off.

Was that the worlds worst photo shopped boat?
will they make it to sea in time to ride out this whole thing?
will they do anything apart from run out of food then have to turn back to land?

Its setup well, certainly what I would do in this situation is scarper over to the isle of mull or something. A deserted island or very sparsely populated one and spend the rest of my days living in peace knowing zombies cant walk through water. Mind you I get the feeling they will in the next one.

It could have answered so much more, where were the emergency broadcasts, the social media going crazy, the reason for the mass cull from the military, a message from the president anything. I mean COME ON, FOR fk SAKE.

As for the, "oh lets not tell our neighbours, lets just leave the door open" seriously. You have spent ages coming to terms with the fact you aren't a monster and cant kill for fun then you think, ah screw the guy who takes my bins out when I'm on holiday, i'll just leave them to all die horribly, rather than massing together and making our survival chances greater. Do fk off.

Haven't read this thread as I don't want any spoilers. This is now free on Amazon Prime. Going to give it a go.

More happens in those 15 minutes than the whole first season of FTWD

I've seen glaciers move faster than a FTWD season.

This true. Season 2 starts on the 10th of April however I'm not sure how this will become anything other than the Walking Dead reboot whilst the other still runs.

I hope I'm wrong but based on the boat premise, I suspect S2 will just see the show become a 'low rent' version of The Walking Dead.

Seems to me that putting them on a boat allows the producers to avoid having to film expensive urban devestation scenes .. just have them landing at remote sections of coast/small islands and having 'adventures of the week' there with relatively small outdoor sets and a low number of zombies. Rent a large motor yacht for a few days for exterior shots and build a small set for the interior of said yacht. Super cheap to film and easy to churn out any number of episodes.

A real shame as they completely glossed over the initial stages of the zombie outbreak in the first season, which to me was the real draw of the show.
Yeah they kind of blew the best bit of premise they set up for the show. Real shame.
