I started watching it and liked the first few episodes but then as others stated it a villain of the week so I left it at about episode 8 or 9. Not sure if it's worth persevering with it, the overall premise and characters are pretty interesting but it became very formulaic.
The first series does get 'villain of the week' in the middle, it gets back on track at the end.

I'm into it big time
Series 2 makes some subtle changes but its still got the same feel good factor about it. The soundtrack is also one of the best of any recent TV series I can think of

yep me too - think its brilliant and personally have zero issue with the 'week by week' story approach

Damn funny and Maze is just awesome. The trick or treating week was ace

There's one episode where they are in a bar and I think he shouts " glass of your best swill love" in a London accent. It just cracks me up
I also love the daughters appearances. And the actress that plays Maze is so drop dead fit.

So...

is this actually worth re-watching following the hero-of-the-week mentality that it initially was?
Have you read the books?

He called someone a wker the other week. Not sure I've ever heard that in a US series before.

LOL +1

Definitely a guilty pleasure!

Glad they've extended this series - was worried we were being left with a real cliffhanger!

The first series was for 13 shows (incl pilot)
I read somewhere the 2nd series was for another 13 but was then extended.

I think Phil Collins said it once in Miami Vice.

And in Family Guy, Peter referred to Prince Charles as a wker.
