The thing is Jay does make mistakes. How will the public react if he messes up the timing when he does *that* jive again, after it was so perfect the first time? Georgia's charleston could give him a run for his money.
I think the key thing about Jay is that when he messes up he generally recovers in a way that doesn't draw attention to it. Maybe it's his experience from doing live gigs, I don't know, but to me (who admittedly knows nothing about dancing and therefore doesn't judge on correctness), this can make the difference between "well that was a bit crap" and "I really enjoyed that". I think those who judge on the finer technical details need to bear in mind that the majority of public voters are in the same boat as me. Plus, of course, many will vote for their favourites regardless of dancing ability.

if it's ballroom everyone will complain it's a fix
This is possibly the most amusingly ironic thing you have ever posted. IMO Anton's experience saw him through. He took the dances he was given and choreographed them 'straight', putting in all the things the judges have taught us to expect. He also had at least one dance of the two that he could take into the dance off with a chance of pulling it off.
I think Gleb played a bad hand. If he'd spent more time fixing Anita's first dance and less time on the salsa he'd have been in the final.

I agree. But this has been a long time coming for Anton and he had someone in Katie that he could work with. Fair play, I say. And as for Gleb and Anita, the judges referred to them as "risk takers" and it's true - Gleb is young, hungry and arrogant. He fked up. Fair enough. He'll be back. I for one thought his choreography was amazing at times but it was clear it was a little 'hit & miss' and that it would ps off Len.

I think some people watch the programme even if they don't have too much interest in dancing....On the Saturday show Len said the standard this year has been the highest it's ever been - I'm not sure I agree with that, in truth. I think there have been far better dancers than the current crop. The likes of Denise Van Outen and Darren Gough would have strolled this one, I think. It's telling that we are at the Final and no-one has still got a 40.
Kylie would get one from me though.
I think it's a shame that Anita is not in the Final, as Gleb's choreography has been a bit of fresh air (to me, anyway). I like the more contemporary aspects he's brought in, even if it's not always quite to the judges' taste - but dancing should still challenge and evolve to an extent.
As for the lies of Darren Gough, I think it's hard to judge different seasons against each other in a way - much like judging racing drivers against each other (Jim Clark vs. Michael Schumacher vs. Fangio) as even the professionals develop their skills each year. Given that, I still think Gough would perform well even now - he came back for the Champions Strictly a few years ago (despite admitting he hadn't danced since winning the competition) and did an amazing job beating Mark Ramprakash, a very good dancer himself.
Anyway, as much as I think Georgia is the best overall this year, I'm hoping for a Keven/Kellie win.

I thought the depth of talent was lacking without Helen, the chavvy public have a chip on their shoulder about thin classy blondes (see Pixie). And what was Craig smoking? He actually said Anita's... er, whatever it was... was better
It's a shame the prejudice that well spoken, well groomed, athletic, slender, young blonde women, with poise and grace, have to endure. ClockworkCupcake said:
I'd love to see Katie win, if only to see Anton's reaction.
Realistically, though, I think Jay has a very good chance of winning it.
He'd retire straight after from Strictly I reckon!! It would be nice to see but not really the right reason for Katie to win (which is ashame)Realistically, though, I think Jay has a very good chance of winning it.
I like Katie and am glad she went through. The judges are always biased though - this year Jay can do no wrong in their eyes. He actually dropped Aliona on the floor at one point on Saturday but the judges just had a little giggle over it. If that had happened to Anita or Katie they'd have never heard the last of it. They also constantly overmark Kelly who's a good dancer but lacks the grace and charm of Katie or Georgia. I don't mind who wins as long as it's not Jay, who is so dull, but he's a fit young bloke and they can't see past that sometimes.

After I've finished watching this series of Strictly, I'd love to go back and watch the one that you've been watching; it sounds very different. bexVN said:

Agree Jay's lift disaster was overlooked but the rest of the dance was amazing.
true, it was a cracking charlie though, the reverse spin one legged flick was fab.I agree to a point about Kellie being less graceful than some of the others however her Rumba on saturday was near perfect, and she is more believable in her dances than the others in the sense that she doesn't look like she is holding back whereas all of the others have looked more nervous to me at times.
its too close to call for me between jay, kellie and georgia and I'd like to see Kellie win.
Katie to go first on saturday, as much as I love postman pat, I mean Anton, katie isn't up to the standard of the other three, neither of whom are perfect but they are on a crash learning course after all...

All depends whether Jay can reproduce that jive without any mistakes, he can't really improve on it. I can see that going wrong and Georgia's charleston winning it.
Final winner is by public vote so whatever dance isn't going to matterJay is way ahead in the voting apparently (see both Kellie and Georgia already in dance offs)
