Strictly Come Dancing 2015 (Official Thread)
Discussion
I should have held off this thread for now as I am time delayed, but I honestly really didn't mind which of the top three won really as all 3 deserved it. So Jay won then? Good on him. He deserved it it as much as any and he had the lead-disadvantage (I don't want to gender bias it, but we know the male has to lead).
Huge congrats to Jay, my favourite for quite a while. Perhaps no coincidence he won with this year's talked about dance being his jive, maybe that's what won it for him as he wasn't the best on the night but as others have said any of the three would have been worthy winners, I genuinely didn't know which of the three was going to get it.
What a series, well done Jay, well done the finalists. Fabulous TV.

Kellie stole that show- straggler for the last few then came out with all guns blazing. Georgie was my pre-final pick but, bar Charleston, played it too safe. She's way better at dynamic, fast stuff IMO.
Can't say Jay's win was undeserved, his growth was up there and his dancing great, but disappointed with his "show dance". I think this is really Aliona's victory, if she was a foot taller I don't think she could have imbued him with the authority he had in his best dances.
I was a bit miffed that Natalie Lowe wasn't paired with Jeremy Vine earlier in the show. Crap as he was, she's have done a better job with a lanky dancer IMO.
Overall though, great series. Don't know what to do with my week till GoT starts now.

I presume that Natalie Lowe is that very tall, rather stunning blonde ?
Jay was very good, and no doubt all the (many) women watching voted for him - for me, Georgia was the best but I doubt that as many men voted anyway.
Aliona is rather lovely but we have to be very wary of these Russian-Kazakhstanians, you never know what they might have concealed in their clothing !

I watched it on catch up late last night and I see it like this:
Giovanni was never going to partner the winner in his first year as a pro because he wasn't Vincent IYSWIM, and having a very young partner in Georgia who hadn't got a massive fan base (or a memorable personality can I dare to suggest?) probably sealed the deal.
I did think Kellie might snatch it on the night, especially having Kevin as a partner who played to her skills very well throughout the series, but she did 2 "non-serious" (albeit very very good) dances out of 3 in the final which may have had an impact, no matter how well(cough-over)-marked she was by the judges.
Jay's a bit of a curate's egg, came bottom with the judges by a margin on the night, was always extremely shy and unexpressive, but you could see he was loving what he was doing, and was probably the best all-round dancer in the series I thought. He also had the hardest job as the male lead, but importantly he was the one man on the evening, and I'm sure(?) that there must be more female than male voters.
An honourable mention for Katie. I'd sort of had a thing for her for some time, and her grace last night (as opposed to Anton's recidivist buffoonery on occasion, albeit good to see him bow out as a dancer on a high note as a finalist) was lovely to see - she knew she wasn't as good as the others, gave it her best, came up as short as expected, and bowed out with a smile.
A final dishonourable mention for Len who has, in his terms, got right on my wick this series, especially with the continued stupid asides to the audience, and generally sneery and unpleasant attitude to dances and dancers he didn't like (mind you, even that's better than his "I'm really sorry, I'd like to give you a good mark, I really would routine!). Time to go, to be replaced by Craig, who is absolutely ready to be Head Judge.
A very enjoyable series all round, I thought, see you all next year

Either of the final two girls could have won it for me, Jay deffo 3rd place, even though he had the best dance of the series with that Pulp Fiction piece. You could tell from the body language of the judges and audience that it was tempered jubilation when the result was announced.
Len didn't look well to me last night. He's getting grumpier by the week and needs to stop over reacting to the audience. Still a top judge though.
And did anybody else think that Jeremy Vine's head looked way to big for his body in the big dance when he went by on that horse?
He looked like somebody holding one of those oversized face masks in front of their faces.
