I'm a little amazed that people can get this excited.

I watched the final, because my Mum likes it and I was staying with them, but honestly I couldn't have cared less which of the 3 won (although the young girl's constant crying was rather annoying).

Someone won, someone else won last year, someone else will, probably, win next year.

It's really doesn't matter...

Very few things in life really matter, especially things on tv, if you look at them the way you are!

For those that did enjoy it though it's because it's a genuinely warm and friendly feeling show where contestants actually put in huge amounts of time and effort and can show some real talent by the end of the series. And the girls look lovely.

Also if you only watched the final and not the previous 12 odd weeks you're unlikely to enjoy it or be invested in it emotionally in quite the same way are you...

Final winner is by public vote so whatever dance isn't going to matter

Jay is way ahead in the voting apparently (see both Kellie and Georgia already in dance offs)
Good call that, spot on....

One of the first signs of madness that is; talking to yourself.

I'll just go on record and say I'm quite in love with Katie. Lovely classy girl with legs that go on forever. As far as MILF threesomes go I don't think you could better Katie and Darcy. Wibble.
Horses for courses and all that, but I can't stand her. Disingenuous, snooty, smug middle class fakery from start to finish. Sorry but I can't stand her (purely from this show alone, I've never met her obvs, so clearly I'm just being a tool). Not for me sorry.
Fair play, less competition! :-)

My thoughts, precisely cloud9

I thought Kellie did enough on the night to win it, the show dances from georgia and jay were dissapointing but that was the fault of the pro not the celeb so ppl might have overlooked it.

all three final dances were pretty much perfect so it was hard to call. I get the personality thing but as a male lead often you are concentrating so hard that smiling is the last thing on your mind, i know they kept going on about it so he should have got the message but these guys aren't even top amateur standard.

There is a fair amount of artistic licence used by the pros and these guys are being taught A dance not TO dance.

Overall though it was a cracking series with the standard higher than ever...next season has a lot to live up to!

That's because next year she would be paired up with the comedy male character.

Last time that happened, she got a Fake terrible injury and couldn't compete to get voted out in the first round.

I suspect it's more to do with being offered Dancing with the Stars and her hubby living in LA as well

That would probably do it. yes

It's a shame because I really like her. She's extremely graceful and I love some of the choreography she did with Jay this year.

A delight to watch - probably the best on the team this year.

I just got the opportunity to see both shows from last week. All series I have been wanting Jay and Aliona to win with a soft spot for Georgia and Giovanni. However after seeing the show I was really disappointed in Jay and Aliona's performances. They danced technically well, but was just disappointed with the routines. I came to the conclusion that they should come third. Looking at Aliona's body language you could tell she was disappointed with the way things had panned out and I think she had conceded that her choices most likely had cost them the win.

Without a doubt Kellie and Kevin had the best "performances" of the night and their scores were well deserved, but looking back on their whole series I never really connected with them and thought they should come second.

Georgia and Giovanni should have won, she really came on as a dancer and performer in the last few weeks or so and I thought she performed really well tonight. Her performances were consistently high and technical ability very good.

When the results were announced I think it shocked everybody and given the above I was disappointed for Georgia and Giovanni. However when the series is taken in to account, not just the night you can justify Jay and Aliona's win.

In any case, it has been a great series and the highlight for me without a doubt is Jay and Aliona's week three Jive. The level of syncronicity (sp) at that stage in the competition in such a greatly choreographed routine was absolutely brilliant, and what made it even more memorable for both Jay and Aliona no doubt, was the fact that it was the first time they actually got it right as the practice runs had been riddled with errors.

With 9 months to go until the next series I can't wait. Maybe we should now start another thread to give tot he BBC as to who to approach for it?

Did anyone watch the Christmas Special? I didn't get round to it. Is it worth looking for on iPlayer or not worth bothering with?

I took my 2 girls to see the Live Tour on Friday night in Glasgow.

We all absolutely loved it - what a very polished show, our seats were quite a bit back from the floor but we could still see very well.

I absolutely loved Mel Giedroyc as the host - so much better than Tess, although similar to Claudia so not sure the 2 would ever work well together - too similar.

Some of the judges comments were a bit closer to the knuckle with being away from TV. Craig and Bruno both wore kilts, Len was in tartan trews.

On the night, Jay & Aliona won the audience vote but they were all very good entertainment.

Thoroughly recommended.

my missus said the same that it was a great show in Leeds.

that night anita and gleb won and she said the same about Mel being a great host - the conversation with frankie post baby was a bit naughty apparently.

we're off to see Brendan cole in harrogate in a few weeks
