Having watched this yesterday I can only assume you either work for he studio or are one on jk's family members.

I saw it on imax and very nearly fell asleep, something that has never happened to me at a cinema, let alone an imax. Perhaps I'm getting old.

The plot is wafer thin, Eddie redmayne played his part well, but it was like watching rain main without tom cruise. If it were a tv show it could have been done in an hour and nothing missed.

If you are writing a book or film and your monster is an amorphous cloud then you should tear up what you've done and start again. It just brings back memories of the fantastic four and green lantern movies.

5 more of These?

Good luck...

4/10
Completely agree. Just finished watching this with the kids and it really is turgid viewing. Checked my watch to find myself an hour in (felt like four) wondering what on earth they could fill the next hour with. Cue checking watch every 5 mins and much shuffling in seat along with the rest of the audience. How can you spend an hour catching 3 creatures, that at the end of the day, have absolutely nothing to do with anything at all? Jesus it was dreadful.

Finding Nemo on sky at the minute, haven't seen it since it came out. Anyway what a cracking film, so brilliantly written plenty of laugh out loud moments.
I watched this again the other day - forgot just how good it was.

The same cannot be said for Independence Day Resurgence. Oh dear, big budget visuals but a flat, bland and wholly tedious movie.

Went to see Fantastic Breasts and where to find them the other night. While I wouldn't slate it as much as some of those above I wouldn't say it was that great. Story din't really flow and there were some huge plotholes, eg What happened to all the people who were inside and didn't get rained on?

Decided to revisit some old films from the collection as I'm having a day off from work today.

Swordfish - Enjoyable, needs more concentration than I was willing to give it this morning.
Running Man - Felt in a 80's Action mood. Loved it!
Police Academy - Forgot how much fun this film was, so much so I'm going to watch No. 2 now.

Perfect way to spoil the nostalgia is by watching any of the other Police Academy's after watching the original - none of them stand up to the original! Trust me, I thought the same after picking up the remastered Blu-ray for PA a few months ago.

Police Academy 2 is possibly better than the first, especially as it introduces Bobcat Goldthwait as Zed. The rest are rubbish though...

Thoroughly enjoying 2, I seem to remember one of them had Bigfoot in it (the monster truck, not mythical creature), 6 I think that was and I always enjoyed that one as a child.

Edit to add, Bigfoot makes a small appearance at the end of 2 woohoo

Been away this week so catching up.

Hell or high water - excellent modern western thoroughly enjoyed it.

Barney Thomsom - a surprise to say the least, excellent acting especially by Emma Thompson as the mother.

Birdman - Why has this got such good reviews? Couldn't get past the first 30mins...

I'll give you Zed - he was the only good thing about the sequels for me. Well, that and Lt Callahan's ever expanding bust hehe

Horns - was on Film 4 the other night. Weird plot, a supernatural thriller murder mystery with horror film overtones. But actually really enjoyed it
My Scientology Movie - Louie Theroux baiting religious nuts in LA. Never a dull moment.

Hell or high water.
Modern western as mentioned above, I enjoyed it but I did find it a bit predictable 6/10

The duel
Not so modern western. Less predictable than hell or high water, a bit slow and moody. 6/10

Sully - 7.5/10

In two minds about this. At times it was fantastic and as is often the case easy to forget it was Tom Hanks on the screen, not the actual character he played. At other times it felt like a bad TV special with effects lifted straight from Air Crash Investigation.

Very odd, more so given it's a Clint Eastwood film.

Just to keep the trend going; I too saw Sully tonight. Didn't listen to any reviews prior to seeing it, although I heard in general it was well received. I really enjoyed it; THanks is brilliant as ever, Aaron Echhart is great support (although it often feels as if he's only there to crack jokes). It's a bit like Apollo 13 where you know something bad is going to happen and you know how it ends, however it still has you captivated throughout.

Only concern from me was how they played the NTSB as the villians - although they make it clear they are just doing their jobs - the characters used to portray NTSB come across as if they are out to get Sully and his crew which just isn't true.

8/10 for me - best film I've seen in the last few months.

War on Everyone

John Michael McDonagh film (The Guard etc).

stars Alexander Skarsgård & Michael Peña in black comedy buddy cop flick. Film is set in Albuquerque, which is its major issue..

I guarantee McDonagh wrote this in an Irish setting but the American studio behind him on this production wanted it transferred to a USA based location..

Which is the real kicker. Cause while this film is undoubtedly a complete crock of $h!t, if it had of been produced as an Irish film, with Brendan Gleeson and Liam Cunningham in the leads for instance, it would have been a masterpiece.. the humour just doesn't transfer.. 3/10 coulda been 9/10.

Hitman agent 47.

Terrible, terrible movie.whole scenes directly lifted from other, better films.

Could be used as a drinking game though: finish your drink when you spot a rip off. You could get quite drunk in 90 minutes.

Dammitt. Was looking forward to getting round to watching this one.

War Dogs. Film about 2 twenty-somethings that wind up becoming international arms dealers selling to the US military, and in particular the biggest deal they did.

Good film on it's own but the fact it's a true story adds even more.

6.5/10
