I watched No Escape last night.

Owen Wilson plays an executive for an American water company who relocates with his family to South East Asia, shortly after they find themselves in the middle of a military coup.

It was recomended to me by a work colleague who said it was unexpectedly good. And it was!! I have a terrible habit of falling asleep watching films, unless they really get my attention. No snoozing for me! Some very tense moments, a good little thriller.
Really enjoyed that - thank for the recommendation
We watched it as well the other night and that it was great!

'Get me my detonators'. Die Hard. Still as riveting today as the first time I saw it.
Yip.

Classics don't fade.
I reckon the best of the 80's; Die Hard, Robocop, Predator, Ghostbusters and the like, still trash any good to dent film made today. It takes a real gold star 5/7 to be out on the same place today.

Finally watched Rogue One, even though it it ticked all the boxes and was very well done and I enjoyed the little nods to a new hope but I found myself thinking that the whole Star Wars thing is a little old hat these days.

Watched this last night after the recommendations on here. I thought it was great and very tense throughout, made me think what I would do and thus a very appropriate film title.

The wife found the wife and kids annoying and went and did something else.

Absolutely fabulous.

9/10 easily

Patric nailed it that was some damn fine acting and so did everybody else come to think of it. Even the girl didn't suck.
Agree, I went and watched this on Saturday. Brilliantthumbup

Mission Impossible 1-4

4 down, 1 to go. Getting better each time, really enjoying them as throwaway entertainment.

The Good Guys - 8/10

Really enjoyed this. Quietly amusing and beautifully 'period'.

Hardcore Henry was free on Amazon Prime. Unique first party camerawork, loads of action, delicious use of multi-role parts, lots of most welcome nudity, even some unexpected comedy, and a plot that keeps you guessing right to the end. Superb. 10/10.

I watched the new Ghostbusters last night - By accident - It was on and, well, um, yeh.

I want to say that it was a shower of st, that I hated it and that I need a partial lobotomy to remove the memory of the film. But. I hate to say that I kind of enjoyed it - Well, parts of it anyway - Yes, there were some bits that were painful to watch and cringeworthy (Bill Murray especially) and some of the jokes were dire and the fight scene at the end with the proton beam nonsense was pretty terrible - But on balance, it wasn't a god-awful film and I did honestly laugh at some points.

I wouldn't pay for it, I might add though.

I did, however, like the other Cameos and I even laughed at the Zool reference at the end smile

6/10 I'd say.

watched hacksaw ridge.

I can only imagine the situation being harrowing, but there was something missing in the movie, i just couldn't warm to the main character, and as a consequence I think the film was lost on me, I really didn't care.
I DID like Vince Vaughn's sergeant character; his lines were comedy gold.

not rubbish, just not great.

I'm going through this with my father at the moment I was absolutely staggered by Patric just awesome.

Yes it's a little formulaic in places and a little predictable but so well done with enough I didn't think they'd do that moments to really make it shine.
Very smart movie making to make what was a tired series and switch it around to what I think now is probAbly my favourite hero movie ever.

Zodiac

A murder mystery based on a true story, slightly long at nearly 3 hours but enjoyable all the same. 7/10

Recently I have watched Arrival and Deepwater Horizon and was not that impressed with any of them if I am honest.
I was choked with the cold watching Arrival so was maybe not giving it a fair crack, not fussed about watching it again.
Passengers was enjoyable, Jennifer Lawrence has a certain charisma/charm about her...The film 7/10, Jennifer 10/10!

Last night we watched Patriots Day with Mark Wahlberg, really enjoyed it. Quite tense and you really got a feel for how Boston reacted to the bombings. Gave a insight to the immediate investigation in the aftermath of a terrorist attack and the pace with which everything progresses.
I think 8.5 out of 10 is a fair score, much better that Deepwater Horizon.

Logan

Very good. Perhaps the best Fox Marvel film, tonally most definitely, one can see the influence of Deadpool.
It was very engaging and I was really drawn in at points, a few flakey bits which stop it short of being a classic, but loved it overall. Great use of the Man in Black as well.

A fine send off of perhaps, the most well cast Marvel character.

Finally got around to seeing this and I wish I'd had the chance to see it at the cinema, epic film and better than all the HP films in my eyes.

Passengers was terrible. Probably the most disappointing movie I've seen in ages. Watching Jennifer Lawrence for a couple of hours was the only thing worthwhile about it. Patriots Day was terrific I thought. Really nicely judged movie (the title nearly scared me off). Deepwater Horizon was better than I was expecting...and boy...the special effects on that movie!
