Also why was there two drop ships on the sulaco?
Was it there as back up in case of emergency? In that case who wasn't it made ready at the same time as the one they used? Not much point having an emergency drop ship that isn't ready.
If Bishop is the only on e qualified to remote pilot the drop ship why did he even go to the planet?
Why send the sulaco with so few soliders in the first place?
What about the. Sulacos flight crew? You can automate a whole spaceship but you need a human to operate the fork lift?
How did the alien that presumably came from newts dad reproduce? Did it go back and get more eggs? If so how did it know where to go? Did it walk? How many could it carry in one go?
Why didn't the colony send for help when newts family arrived back? They had time to make all the baracades, but not make a phone call?
When the marines searched the atmosphere generator, why were some colonists still alive (although impregnated) how long is the gestation period?
SHUTUP!! You're fking ruining one of my favourite films, you bd!! biggrin

Sulaco is the big interspace military vessel? I don't think such vessels having a minimum of two is unreasonable, and bigger ships (with more men) to have more. Military like to spend.

As the only one 'qualified' to remote pilot the drop ship, it may have been prudent to have him stay onboard, but since he can remote it, it doesn't matter where he is. Plus the 'qualification', like the pilots can't do it? I reckon the cockiniess of the space marines is that they never expected to lose so many so fast, plus Gorman is a woefully inexperienced leader, he was just sent on a bug hunt after all, plus who knows what strings Berk pulled.

Back then, the intelligence of the ALien wasn't broadcast, I tink more recent films have revealed them to be highly intelligent, if not more so than humans. But then, every single Alien film has changed the script from day one. biggrin

Guessing, I'd expect once the original alien (or more if people went to investigate the crash site to see just what was going on) that initual control was lost pretty quickly, with stranglers surviving in a mean hand to mouth existence, like Newt did.

Life
Expected much, decent suspense but its an Aliens carbon copy and we both guessed the ending before the big reveal 6/10

Logan
Decent close to the franchise, some decent action, proper characters and human emotion, liked 8/10

It's one of my all time favourites too. The only sci fi films I have seen more have Star Wars as a prefix.

I was just trying to balance the usual arguments against Prometheus by pointing out even the very, very best films can be picked apart if a) you are familiar enough with them and b) you are so minded.

Is there an extended version that explains that? I haven't seen it.

Why did you have to make it up?

if his eyes had gone bad then why would wearing sunglasses help.

That makes no sense.

why cant the tet contact cruise herself? why are coms down half the time and why do they need humans to fix the robots when there are millions of them on the tet.

Just send them all down and eradicate whats left of all humans.

T2 finally came out over here.

I didn't think it was all that great tbh 6 or 7 out of 10 at most. Its a not so great copy of the original and not much in the way of character development - and not sure why they had focus on the Bulgarian.

However the cinema all clapping at the end (and Sister D saying it was excellent) puts me in the minority with the low score review.

Kong: Skull Island.

I have to say I was really looking forward to this - and I wasn't disappointed. Loved it. The 70's soundtrack was great, some touching moments and some great action sequences

My son dragged me to take him to see this yesterday and I was fearing the worst, but I quite enjoyed it. Much better than it has any right to be given the premise.

Hmm, maybe I should have a go then (Cineworld unlimited so no extra cost)

But the trailer made it look an utter pile of cliched Hollywood bks

I paid over £20 to see it with the lad at rip-off Meadowhall Vue prices and didn't feel particularly hard done by at the end.
