High Plains Drifter.

I was wondering how a 1973 film could be an 18, 10 minutes I got my answer.

not really a western, you could transplant this film into most timelines or places, and it would still work.

good film, 8/10.

Love HPD, Clint made some cracking westerns. Pale Rider was a sort of follow on in theme.

This is a one of my go to films, it is epic especially in a decent home cinema set up! Such a good film. But remember, Blade Runner was not well received at the time...

Has Matt Damon ever made a bad movie?
Yes.

Stuck on you.

Predestination - Time loop wtfness. Very enjoyable piecing things together and I felt it was pretty obvious who was who and what was what for the most part. Still a good film. 7/10

Fast and Furious 7 - 3/10. Just full of BS. Some nice cars and nostalgia though.

X-Men: Days of Future Past - Another time travelling type movie. I enjoy the superhero stuff and Marvel/DC in general usually and I liked this one. Visual effects on point as usual and a decent storyline. It annoys me that they just left the fast guy (Quicksilver) who they could've used to solve the whole thing though! 7/10.

It got a decent review on the BBC film show, won several awards and was nominated for several others. Where does the negative come from?

Loved that, especially the light jets.
Wish they had gone ahead with Tron 3

It's worth watching for the soundtrack alone.

We Bought A Zoo won't feature on anyone's top 10 either (but agree his track record is better than most)

Despite your review I am going to get this on the basis we liked Identity Thief. We'll have to wait and see if you were right wink
If it helps, my kids liked it.

Spy - Melissa McCarthy

I'd heard this was funny and my kids wanted to watch it because it has Miranda in it.

Utter ste. Don't think I laughed once.
I thought it was very, very funny.

I've always liked the theory that his character is some sort of avenging spirit or devil

Not bad actually. I like Del Toro in films so that was a plus. A dark film though. 7/10
I enjoyed it too, quite a caper! Did depress me though, thinking about the effect of the drugs trade and this mental, unwinnable 'war on drugs' and the almost instant benefits decriminalisation might bring (and no, I am not drug taker.)

Also watched There Will Be Blood. An excellent story, very tense and with some of the best acting I've seen. A brilliant film. (Mind you, I do use oil!)
