The Way, Way Back (watched it on Prime). An enjoyable easy going film with Toni Collette, Steve Carell & Sam Rockwell, plus a good supporting cast. It’s by the same people who did The Descendants and Little Miss Sunshine, so if you liked those films you’ll probably like this one too.
Really nice film - Rockwell steals the show as always.

I really enjoyed this too, and Rockwell deffo steals the show.

Gotta say that Carrell was very convincing as a bd!

Saw A Bigger Splash today. Really enjoyed it. Ralph Fiennes gives a great performance and the rest of the main cast are excellent to. 8/10 from me for this one.

Outlaw Josey Wales. Forgotten how dry and funny the script is. 10/10
Predestination...was OK. I thought all the twists were signposted though so it was a bit meh.
John Wick was pretty good. No bullst artificial tension, just balls to the wall vengeance.

Went to see SPOTLIGHT last night, a rather good film overall, some questionable actor choices but kept me interested throughout.

Based on a true story, mind boggling how corrupt and twisted the catholic church was/is.

Prisoners

wow

SO glad I didn't know anything about this, one of the best films of it's kind I've seen, and had me on tenterhooks almost all the way through. A solid gold 5/7 from me.

Just watched the Boy in the Striped Pyjamas - 9/10.

After last years trip to Auschwitz and Nuremburg it really captured some of the things that doing such trips make it hard to comprehend.

I watched Judge Dredd (2012) the other day for the first time. It wasn't what I was expecting, but I liked it all the same. I kinda want to see it again actually.

I was thinking about this the other day after watching Deadpool and reading about Studios sudden realisation that perhaps an R rated comic book movie isn't as bad an idea as they used to think thanks to Deadpool's success. I thought it might generate some further interest in a Dredd sequel. Hopefully because I really liked the movie. And it's far, FAR better than the Stallone awfulness that's gone previously.

Cannot stand Corden, but it wasn't ruined too much by him.

Bridge of Spies.
Most enjoyable, good story well told and well acted, solid 8/10.

Last 5 minutes from the moment he steps out of the car arriving home 0/10. Bloody yanks. Mawkish sentimentality, trumpety music, the whole 9 yards. Either turn off or have a sick bucket ready.

It spoiled the whole film and was unnecessary.

you expected anything less from spielberg?

good film but its by the numbers spielberg/hanks. would have made a great series but seemed to cover too much ground and so the college kid storyline felt shoehorned in. mark rylance is pure class though.

lobster sounds intriguing by the way. i just read the plot and the fact it had a greek director and thought it had to be the guy who made dogtooth. turns out i was right. this guy has form so if you guys need another WTF movie to watch, it has to be dogtooth!

Deadpool

Kind of ok. Spoils some what by annoying false laughter at the in jokes and Easter eggs.

Colossus "I'm going to take you to see professor Xavier"

Deadpool "which one? MacAvoy or Stewart"

Is that really a laugh out loud spit your drink out joke? Maybe I am being a bit of a grump.

7/10
