Hot Tub Time Machine.
Surfing the channels last night and caught this as it started.
Stupid and funny.
Everything about it sounds like it should be awful... but its actually really good.

Agreed. I particularity liked the Hunter S. Thompson nod that Cusack gave when on the shrooms.

It's a great film. I agree it has the potential to be a shallow failure but it just works. The cast make the most of the script and do not take themselves serious (as if they could) and even the dumb bits work.

+1 saw this for the first time a few months ago and really enjoyed it more than I thought I would have. Looking forward to watching The Hateful Eight tomorrow on Blu-Ray!

I loved this film too, but whatever you do, do NOT watch HTTM 2....it's possible the worst film I have ever watched.

Just watched 'Joy' with Jennifer Lawrence.

Enjoyed it in a gentle let the Mrs choose the film kind of way. 7/10

Everyone wants some

Utter genius, this gets a coveted 10/10 - quirky, very funny, great music and costumes, charming with a hidden undercurrent theme

Absolutely loved it

Love Jenn Lawrence cloud9

Hot Tub Time Machine, ignored this when it was on the flicks, but watched it on C4 a few years ago, was really surprised at how good it is.

I watched 'Anzio ', which I'd recorded a while ago. I found it rather disappointing, especially the ending...too much sub-existentialist navel-gazing for me.

The hundred foot journey.

Indian family forced to flee India end up opening a curry house in France across the street from a Michelin star restaurant owned by the local gastro snob (Helen Mirren)

It's a gentle, feel-good film, really well acted and good for all the family.

7.5/10

Do not listen to this man.

Everyone wants some is a tissue-thin adolescent fantasy of a perfect freshers weekend. Our hero is a fresher, studying baseball, and assigned to a "frat" house for the team. Literally everyone is tall, fit, and beautiful, and at least thirty five years old by the look of them, which makes the only 'twist' in this film more than a little ironic. They drink all weekend but are never really drunk or tedious, they take drugs and nothing happens, they go to more than one impossibly lavish party per day, and everyone gets laid on the first night. Amid all this our hero meets a special girl. The film tries hard to suggest that there is some depth to the hero/the girl/their ending conversation in the pond, but really you'll find more for adults in the Angry Birds Movie.

Try the comments, not the critics:

My naive, adolescent, romantic film was Mannequin. I know, I know, it's embarrassing. But it was far better than this.

Gone baby gone -Affleck's directorial debut, I think? As a film, it's great, less so as an adaptation. His little slack-jawed brother is hateful, otherwise casting is excellent. 7/10
Casey affleck is superb in the assassination of Jesse James, ok in the killer inside me, ste in everything else.

Watched this on a fight recently, very odd topic for a film and an even stranger cast! Lawrence was superb but someone needs to cast de Niro in something decent as his output is getting shockingly bad. What's was his last decent film, Ronin? Only 18 years ago!

Thoroughly enjoyed it, if that helps you judge my taste, although the films are quite different

EWS is quirky and tongue in cheek, reminded me of napoleon dynamite at times. Also don't expect much realism, it's not a documentary and the parts are very much caricatures

I guess we shall have to see what others make of it.

(6/10 if I include one point per naked breast, for me).
