Coming of age films I've recently watched and enjoyed;
The way way back and mud
Not heard of the one mentioned above, it doesn't intrigue me from the description

Gone baby gone -Affleck's directorial debut, I think? As a film, it's great, less so as an adaptation. His little slack-jawed brother is hateful, otherwise casting is excellent. 7/10
Casey affleck is superb in the assassination of Jesse James, ok in the killer inside me, ste in everything else.
great in Out of the Furnace
ok in Interstellar

I also took my 3.5yo to see 'Zootopia' this morning, I might have enjoyed it more than I'd care to admit... hehe

I am Wrath.

John Travolta does Liam Neeson/Charles Bronson/Arnie/Kevin Bacon/Mel Gibson/every other wronged man with a special forces background whose wife is murdered or kids are kidnapped. Badly. 4/10

Tried watching Hail, Caesar. Managed about 45 minutes before wondering what the hell was going on. Maybe it was an inside joke that if you don't work in Hollowood you don't get? Maybe it was one of those funny films where nothing funny happens? Whatever it was, it failed to deliver on the most basic level of entertaining. Whatever, my other half and I just didn't get it.

2 / 10 for the bit we saw based on a swimsuit shot of Scarlet Johansen.

London has Fallen. I hate this sort of rubbish but she wanted to watch a brain out movie and she likes a bit of Gerard. Fair enough. So, some pretty poor CGI of London getting bombed. Cue our action man doing a Die Hard on the terrorist scumbags and managing to order the SAS about (in the UK) in the process.

3 / 10 just for some of the action.

Watched JOY this weekend. Was utterly fabulous and really struck a chord.

I'm not ashamed to say that tears came to my eyes more than once and the conclusion is a triumph.

Only in Hollywood could a Scotsman play an American in England saving the U.S. president.
