The Big Short.
8/10
Watched this again last night.8/10
I love the little touches, like when Brad Pitt is talking about selling the CDOs and then says he has to go for his colonic, or woman at Standard & Poor with really bad eyesight!
Just watched Money Monster - meh. Interesting premise and a really strong cast, but the whole thing felt a bit contrived and the events in the 3rd act seem to happen very quickly and cleanly, it just felt fake. There were some laugh out loud moments which I was surprised by. I dunno; it passed the time but will probably never watch again.

Entertainment. That's what was lacking. Sure it's clever in a cinematography sense but it was dull dull dull.
Yeah, I think you're right... Well acted, some clever cinematography and quite probably lots of 'in-jokes' that I completely missed, but nothing to engage me.I didn't really care what happened to any of the characters... Or maybe that was the point in some Nihilistic way?

Had a run of ste films recently but a couple of decent ones over the weekend (coincidentally both from 2014):
99 Homes
Post-market crash Florida. Nuilder/chippy loses home to opportunistic real estate agent who's busily picking up defaulted property; finds himself working for the agent as the deals become larger & dodgier.
Very good low budget fare. English bloke who played one of the Facebook creators in the Social Network's the lead, Micheal Shannon excellent as the agent.
The Theory of Everything
Hawking bipoc, sort of film that the UK does very well.
Redmayne superb as the lead.
