Perhaps a bit harsh, but I cringe at most of the attempts he makes - seems to be an actor that tries too hard and I'm programmed to dislike it.

Robin Hood is another case in point.

stumbled across the below and rather wish I hadn't... to be fair Tawney Kitaen had a magnificent pair of norks (and there are several other really cute ones on show) so a fine pair out of 10

You can't say all that then post a broken link. We need to know what you're talking about so we can form an informed view for our selves.

Watched "Haywire" last night - recorded some time ago. Not impressed, loads of big names but not much of a story and too many flashbacks and scenes shot in half darkness for my liking. Chase sequences go on a bit too long, too. Pity, as it looked promising at the start.

I thought it was excellent.

London Has Fallen - I rather enjoyed Olympus Has Fallen for what it was, but this was just dire. Although the first film was implausible, you can buy a surprise attack taking over a single building, but this time it expects you to believe the baddies have somehow infiltrated half the Met and Coldstream Guards without anyone noticing. If you're trapped in a building it makes sense that there's a good chance of being discovered, thus building tension, but in an entire city there's no reason why you couldn't just hide in someone's house until it was all over. The CGI is properly rubbish, something that's very unusual in a mainstream film these days, and in several shots you can see plenty of people casually making their way to work despite half the city just being blown up.

I posted from my phone, do over, due over, either way great film. Just for balance, the above two probably have a copy of 2001:Space Odyssey wrapped in protective film and consider it a 11/10 film!

Look, Do-over was a fun slapstick type humour film, you either like Sandler or you don't, I do but then I don't like 2001 (biggest PoS I've watched).
sorry, wasn't having a pop at you directly, AS just has a gag reflex on me.

For context I found 2001 to be a film for critics and other film makers to enjoy, and Despicable Me is one of my top 10 of last 5 years so hardly a movie snob!
Adam it was more at the response from others, it happened a few weeks back too where someone went off in a huff because we weren't all reviewing some film noir with subtitles (because anything else just is gutter)

Back on track, just watched another Adam Sandler film for some yet again great light entertainment. The Cobbler, certainly a 7/10 as its worth a watch to anyone that fancies a nice story, bit of comedy and a simple plot.

Very nice little film

Apart from the fact it ended as if the camera ran out of film and they decided 'that'll do'

Watched 'They Live' for the first time ever last night.

It's crap 80's stuff, but it's John Carpenter crap that's done with sense of humour so I'll give it 6.9/10.

Watched Lucy the other night. Promising start but just got silly as she developed random superpowers supposedly due to being more intelligent.

Kung Fury again last night for the third time.

Utterly brilliant for no real discernible reason. Might be the soundtrack.

Careful, we're not allowed to enjoy low brow entertaining films in ere sonny
Me and the missus watched Brothers Grimsby on Sunday. Quite possibly one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Takes low brow and decides thats too serious.

Followed that with Cloverfield Lane. Which was definitely not what I expected at all - absolutley brilliant. Ending was a bit of a surprise.
How did you see cloverfield lane, is it on netflix yet? as i missed it in the cinema and really want to see it.
