Kind Hearts and Coronets - as close to a ten as one can get

Wanderlust - nice lil romcom, the précis made me think of Packin' It In, it was like that 90's gem, but it had enough lil quirks to make up for it's fairly generic formula. And ANt-Man is always good to watch, especially his impro out-takes.

Ender's Game - Very nice, it really drew me in and the eponymous actor was quite intense without being creepy or strained, very good, only watched it 'cas of Solo, but I really enjoyed it, I sort of half knew the ending, but it was still a gripper.

Secret Life of Walter Mitty - Only watched this because I love the original. It started off poorly, and the dreams bits were very meh and got more and ore tedious, I almost switched off, but I didn't and glad I didn't because as as soon as the dream stuff was left behind it kicked into gear and became a different film, much more worthy of watching and tuned into a lovely film, so much so that I was really involved at the end. And loved the end song...which the of a voiceover didn't spoilt too much.

The 2013 Ben Stiller reprise of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty... what a complete and totally unexpected gem, and makes two good films Sean Penn has been in (with Carlito's Way)
Very much this. Expected little, enjoyed it.

Beautifully filmed in places and bonus Lada Niva action.

I also watched Major Dundee and Day of the Evil Gun in the week, two decent old style cowboys that are a bit above the mark thanks to their great stars.

Watched this tonight and as you said, totally unexpected gem. The soundtrack was also fantastic.

The Truth. About the CBS investigation into George W Bush avoiding military service in the Vietnam war. Good portrayal about how the story became about attacks on the reporters and the authenticity of a particular memo rather than whether the story was actually true or not.

OK for a Sunday evening - 8/12

Saturday watched Secret Life of Pets, the trailers had the best bits, dammit. I was looking forward to this for months, and whilst it was enjoyable it didn't properly fulfil my expectations...7.2/10
Sunday watched Secret Life of Walter Mitty , must be the third time I've seen it, and it bears repeated viewing IMO. One of personal favourites, great pace, visuals and score....8.9/10

Could do with watching something that isn't secret now...

Yeah it's pretty awful.
If they could have chosen a different lead, that would'av helped.

It didn't help that I'd just watched Threads for the first time ever the day before going to the cinema to see I am Legend. Just a rubbish film. Apparently the book ending is totally different and the twist is that the last human is actually the bad guy who steals their children in the night and does experiments on them while they're just trying to get on with their lives and rebuild.

Really liked Walter Mitty too - seen it a couple of times now and it doesn't lose anything on repeated viewings. I still always laugh at Ted's beard. Also really enjoyed Dad's Army. Kids got it for me Father's Day, surprisingly my dad didn't like it that much.

Yeah, and I love apoc films, I also enjoy the Heston vehicle, The Omega Man. That too has a different ending.
The Will Smith version, the cinematic ending was typical murder-death-kill bks, but the alternative ending does show that reality that you mention, that the 'others' are trying to get on with their lives. I prefer the non-cinmatic ending.

Batman vs superman ultimate edition

Meh, average.

Ben Afleck is way better than any other element of the film though.

With out chris Nolan, marvel are much better at this than WB

Welcome to the punch

Star Trek Beyond

Star Trek's conversion into a full-on action franchise is complete.

Besides some fun banter between the familiar characters, this barely feels like Trek at all. All action, no plot, no ideas. Some of the set pieces are preposterous.

2/10 (Very disappointing)

You've failed your Highness, I am a story based sci-fi, like my series before me, I will not be turned to the action side.

Opening scene with the GT500's good... rest's a bit crap & the effects have dated badly.
