You mean you never saw 2016's Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens?! hehe don't worry, neither did anyone else!
Haven't seen Sharknado 4 yet, but I will hehe . And whodathunkit that Zed from Police Academy would go on to direct films like God Bless America and World's Greatest Dad? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobcat_Goldthwait

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, quite simply put it is superb. The subdued tension, the cinematography the lot, all of it is faultless. Excellent casting, excellent acting, just an excellent film. They should make a book out of this.
Couldnt get into it. Normally like this sort of thing.

One assumes I will receive a parrot for mentioning John Le Carre.

Just watched 'Fury' for the first time. Stunning film about the horrors of war with a slightly disappointing end. 7.5/10

Watched, Would You Rather. People are brought together to play the childhood game of the same name. Except the choices are pretty nasty to say the least. 6.5/10

Coincidentally today is the first day I've ever heard of the 'Sharkmado' films. This is after watching (it was on the TV I can't say I glanced more than twice at it to see David Hasselhoff) the third instalment.

And then I watched 'Beverley Hills Cop 2'. Proper 80's good stuff with great music score.

During a series of long-haul flights over the past month I have watched a number of films, some of which I have not viewed in a loooong time.

The Revenant. OK, beautifully shot, but over long. 6/10

Grand Prix. Has aged better than I expected. 7/10

The Big Short. Really enjoyed this. 8/10

Money Monster. Better than expected 8.5/10

Dead Pool. Fun deviation from the usual comic book fare. 7/10

Batman vs Superman. OK, but kind of pointless. 6/10

Casino Royale (the original one). Terribly dated, but still good fun. 6.5/10

10 Cloverfield Lane. Wasn't sure what to expect, but quite enjoyed it. 7.5/10

Midnight Special. Once again, wasn't sure what to expect, but quite enjoyed it. 7.5/10

My TiVo box suggested I watch the movie,
District 9

Second viewing but first time I've actually paid attention and watched it properly. Wow what a corker.. still no sequel or prequel though!
I too watched District 9 after Tivo recorded it, second half of the film is brilliant, great pacing.
If you liked District 9, gives Chappie a go. Similar in style, same director (Neil Blomkamp), got mixed reviews, but I liked it.

Both great films, I need to watch his other film, Elysium.

District 9 - Fantastic, original, clever, thought provoking
Elysium - Enjoyable, formulaic action with great effects
Chappie - Awful, a kids film dressed up in bad language and violence.

With the wife away this week I have had the TV to myself. And so last night I flicked through sky Movies to see what was available, and stumbled upon a few greats I haven't seen in a while, and settled on Clint Eastwood/John Malkovich smasher "In The Line of Fire"

Been a long while since I had seen it, and I still really enjoyed it even though we all know how its going to end before its begun.

I do love a good 80s/90s film score as well.

Finished watching Victoria last night, had to watch it in 2 sittings as ran out of time.

Great film set in Berlin all done in a single take! 8/10.

I must admit I like Die Antwoord in a bizarre way, so went into Chappie a little biased.

I thought Elysium was an absolute mess. Quite a few "why would that even happen??" moments (although not as bad as Prometheus), nonsensical motivations, and poor storytelling. I won't derail the thread by expanding on that though.

District 9 was excellent, however. But I am starting to wonder if Neill Blomkamp is the new M. Night Shyamalan - first film good, 2nd mediocre, subsequent films pants.

But...what could be?...hehe

Still not sen Elysium, that'll be a telly viewing.

Spooks - the Greater Good, not a terrible film but another that, when trying to watch it without the entire neighbourhood being involved, means a lot of messing with the volume as it veers from virtually inaudible whispering to thundering loud music. Pretty good plot though, not too taxing, nice ending quite reminiscent of the TV series, of which I am a big fan.

The Imitation Game - on TV Sunday night, interesting film though I thought the flashbacks to his school life were a bit superfluous once we'd established how clever he was, and knew he was.

The flashbacks showed he went a great school and was a bit of a loner and very clever....
It also showed his overwhelming affection for 'Chris'
The massive impact what happened to Chris had on him,...
Which lead to him calling his machine Chris...
and near insanity at the thought of "him" being taken away from him for the second time..
I thought the history, recent past and 'current', balance was dealt with pretty well

Alien - The Director's Cut. It is a marginally better version of the classic, I felt.
Aliens - Special Edition. MUCH better version of the classic. Robot Sentries, FTW.

I have the remaining two movies in Director's Cut versions to watch.

The Hateful Eight was really good, too. Perhaps a little long...

Just saw Jason Bourne. I really enjoyed it. I haven't seen the Bourne Legacy but have seen the previous three and I would say it isn't as good as the Bourne Ultimatum but on a par with the other two. 7/10 from me for this one.

You should see Legacy, it's not half bad, an equally fun way to waste a couple of hours...
The only negative I can think of is the abruptness of the en
