Just saw Jason Bourne. I really enjoyed it. I haven't seen the Bourne Legacy but have seen the previous three and I would say it isn't as good as the Bourne Ultimatum but on a par with the other two. 7/10 from me for this one.
You should see Legacy, it's not half bad, an equally fun way to waste a couple of hours...

I thought Legacy was pretty poor and a lot worse than the Matt Damon movies. They took the formula to be safe but it was a poor photocopy of the previous movies in my opinion. As an action film in it's own right it wasn't awful but giving it the Bourne name, despite helping it sell, just invited comparisons and it doesn't hold up at all. Not seen the new one and although I'm not expecting it to be as good as the first, I'm looking forward to a return of the real Jason.

The Renner vehicle? I like that one, it's my fave.

Watched that the other day. They didn't even mention the dog. Gone off them.

I have to admit to being a fan of RLM, particuarly half in the bag fan. I tend to agree with Jay and Mike most of the time. The recent Star Trek film being one they loved but I didn't.
My only complaint is that when watching a genre movie one of them will act dumb and pretend not to know about it. Mike always claims to know nothing about source material for comic book movies and will frequently say something like "The joker is he a comic book character?" or claim not to have seen a high profile film like the first wolverine one. Jay does the same for anything sci-fi related.
They also like to play a recording of them at the movie with Rich Evans laughing when he shouldn't. Which would be highly annoying if you were in the cinema.

It's like top gear.... The old one. "This car has 450 torques, whatever they are" then later in the review.... " the interior light switch is from a 2016 Vauxhall Nova". Trying to look dumb (or even cool) but clearly bigger nerds than the rest of us.

Still doesn't stop me watching everything they do (just like top gear)

And to think, at the time, I thought Steve Guttenburg would be the next huge star! Whatever happened to him - he did Cocoon, and then seemingly very little.

There's a longer audio version, don't know why though.

I watched, for the first time ever a comedy called 10 Things I Hate About You, apparently a film loosely based on Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. What a wonderful film it was! Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger were fantastic. Great soundtrack, too.

Purge: Election Year.

I thought the previous ones were a bit of fun, the first especially which was decent. As often happens with this type of franchise the budget drops and the BS takes hold. Lots of holes and silliness. 4/10.

Independence Day: Resurgence.

It's supposed to be brain out fun with some comedy and action, yes I know. However, the comedy and silly parts all seemed to be timed very badly and was unfunny in delivery. Some cool effects but it was all too cheesy to be as enjoyable as I hoped. 3/10.

American Ultra.

Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart, who is way better than she is given credit for, play a couple of small town lovers who have to fight for their lives after Jesse's unknown secret agent skills are activated. This is how you do brain out fun with the right comedic delivery and packing the action in. Decent plot, well acted, lots of fun. 8.5/10.

I'm staying away from franchise reboots.

Last night I watched "Cloverfield". Oh my sainted trousers what a pile of ste. Not only that, it actually made me physically motion sick (it's a 'found footage' film, that should have been the clue which told me to avoid it). I had to lie down in bed for half an hour before the nausea passed.

Horrendous.

I was thinking about trying to watch this again as it's the prequel to 10 Cloverfield Lane but from what you've said I will probably not bother now.

Yeah, hate those style of films, Blair Witch really started a bag o'ste trend.
Lasted minutes with Cloverfield before it got deleted.

10 Cloverfield Lane is much better, though. Although I did feel like it was two completely separate movies stitched into one in the last act.

Star Trek Beyond last night, after rewatching the other two over the weekend.

It was okay, few lines fell a bit flat and a couple bits absolutely ridiculous, I won't give anything away without sabotaging your viewing.

Easy watch, and you know what you're getting in for with these films, first one is still my fave though. 7/10.

I found it a tough watch tbh... made it to the end, and I 'get' the message, but didn't find much to enjoy about it.. 'odd' is right.
6 for me...just...

I just watched the Batman one, I can see a bit of the above, but they tend to be fairly good critics of how films should go, which a lot of so called critics in more official places are not.
