I admire your patience.

I only lasted 20 mins, complete nonsense.

If anyone's interested, Event Horizon is on Movie Mix, right now.
Not seen it for 15 years watched again tonight on Moviemix. Eeerie film!
An underrated film IMO. Really unsettling.
Having flown to the states and back, I got through a few on the plane.

Terminator Genesys I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. I liked how they wove it through bits of the first film, and having Arnie in actually worked which I didn't expect. Emilia Clarke looked the part but couldn't really pull off tough like Linda Hamilton did though. Still pretty decent though, enjoyed it.

San Andreas Exactly as expected, dumb-ass, cliched disaster movie. Quite enjoyed it though for what it was.

Jurassic World. Oh dear. The trailer put me off seeing it at the cinema and I'm glad I didn't. Some really poor effects in places, story a direct lift of the original, but with added dumb, oh and a few scenes from Aliens thrown in rather lazily. A couple of nice nods to the original (liked the knotted shirt), but generally pretty dire.

Fury As above. Didn't know anything about it, but by heck it was poor. Good effects, but just stoopid. And that death scene...FFS.

After some abysmal choices recently, I thought I'd revisit a film I'd not watched for about 10 years...
Goodfellas absolutely glorious, a joy to watch.

With regard to Mad Max I wasn't expecting anything other than a brains out action film, what I got was 45 minute car chase, Tom Hardy was very poor (as normal). Just awful.

No I wasn't really expecting much even though it somehow has a score of 8.3 on IMDb (the mind boggles) and it did get some positive reviews earlier in this thread so I had no idea it was going to be that bad.

Actually just thinking about that score of 8.3, how is that even possible? Does make me lose a bit of confidence with the site.

Something that popped into my head, and the wife hadn't seen it before, still as lovely as ever.

The Martian - going against the grain here but I loved it. Movie of the year for me.

'Local Hero'.
An old UK comedy before the days that gangster tteery took over, harking to the Ealing classics.
The UK produced some classic charming comedies in the 80s.

Men in Black 3 on C4 at the moment.

I've seen it before, but I think this has to be the best of the three. I really like this film.

I thought the 2nd was just such a lazy, cash-in of crap I never bothered with the third.
It is worth it?

They Live

The storyline had good potential and I liked the style of it assuming it was supposed to look like a dodgy B movie but it just fell a bit flat in places. None of the acting was great but Roddy Piper in particular as the lead role seemed totally wooden.

I admire your foresight - I persisted with this steaming pile of crap in the hopes that it would improve.... it didn't frown
