OK I have The Outlaw Josey Wales just arrive on BR. I shall be watching that tonight - another one I haven't seen since my childhood.
Oh, the other night I watched Enders-Game. I wasn't expecting to watch it all as I had read all of the negative reviews, but because my expectations were so low, I ended up being pleasantly surprised. I loved the ending!

Surely must be my most quoted western.
Ender's Game, same here! Saw it on Film4...thought it was ace! Really annoyed by the ending, but I had sort of half heard/guessed it.

Echoing what's been mentioned above, but I've always had a soft spot for Tremors. Just a good fun monster movie, doesn't try to be anything else & doesn't need to be. The interplay between Bacon and Ward is almost perfect, even the location is bang on to provide that authentic "B Movie" feel.
Oh sure, we all knew about 'em, we just didn't tell you.Another great film to quote.
Glad I'm not the only one who really rates man on fire. got a soft spot for tremors as well
back on track, I watched suicide squad this weekend 2 (maybe 3) out of 10. I felt like it was missing half a film with all the choppy editing, if I could have gotten a refund I would have. Disappointing to say the least

I watched Point Break last night.
Wow... that was bad!!
What made it even worse for me was that for a film that had no real pretense of a plot, but was really just a series of set-piece "action" stunts, there was nothing to be wowed about in that department either. I would have been a bit peeved if I had paid to see that at the cinema.

The Good Dinosaur - With the kids, it's not bad but not a classic. 6/10
The Man from Uncle - Very cool and stylish, good looking and I like the 60's style filming and all the old motors. 7/10
John Wick - Standard issue revenge flick. FFS bad guys, when you get the 'hero' just kill him otherwise it will go badly for you. Quite enjoyable but the fights went on a bit. 7/10

War of the worlds (2005)
decent film, needs a good sound system as half of its effect is the audio.
decent acting, some of the CGI looking slightly iffy 11 years later.
ending is a bit "Merica" with the squaddies taking down a tripod.
It's not really a repeatable viewing film.
Not a classic, though its tripods are the best ones so far committed to film.
Best scene by far though is the emerging of the 1st tripod, now that scene is a classic.

I think this might have been the film that made me decide not to pay money to see Hollywood blockbusters any more.I just found it frustrating.
When I saw Cruise was playing a neglectful father, I feared the worst. It's Hollywood's default storyline when they can't be bothered to think of anything.
Besides it's no wonder he neglects his kids. They're dicks.
The predictable ending, the lack of attention to detail, the kid's endless screaming. And worst of all, the lack of flying underpants (for some reason I noticed there wasn't any underwear among the clothes, then couldn't stop looking)
It had some great setups but ultimately failed to deliver for me.

Watched Eddie the Eagle last night.
"Based on a true story"
More like "We made everything up, apart from his name and the bit about the Olympics".
The lad from Kinsgsman played Eddie by doing a bad impression which resembled someone with special needs, Hugh Jackman played an entirely ficticious coach with more than a hint of Wolverine.
5/10 - should have tried harder, much harder.
As a matter of interest where did you see this? It isn't released on DVD in Australia until 24th August and the cinema run finished in June."Based on a true story"
