They Live

The storyline had good potential and I liked the style of it assuming it was supposed to look like a dodgy B movie but it just fell a bit flat in places. None of the acting was great but Roddy Piper in particular as the lead role seemed totally wooden.

6/10
Dude that's a classic film, Piper is great. It's a Carpenter film, made for about £10, it's aweseome.

I'm here to kick ass and chew bubblegum.....and I'm all outta bubblegum!

9/10

There's been rumours for years about making a new version, they'll spend $150m on it and it'll suck.

If they make it with Dwayne Johnson, it might rock.

pixel - 7/10, yes, yes, it was utter ste at time, the cast is terrible, the jokes are tired, the scenario is farcical, but I enjoyed it. It was fling away fun, it was great to see some classic games brought back to life and how I hoped wreck it ralph would have been. I can see why some hated it. But that's why I liked it.

Terminator - 7/10, this is the first film where I was completely lost with the time travel malarkey. I am sat there going, wtf I cant even remember what happened in the first three. But it was generally ok, good action flick.

Can people stop giving Adam Sandler money please. Imagine the films that are not being funded because that money is being given to Sandler and his mates to create a relentless stream of turds.

One of the worst things about this film is that it dilutes the brilliance of the short film it's based on - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugV6cLgwomo

Yeah that could work, would need Terry Crews as well

Sicario 7/10

Not what I was expecting (which is usually a compliment), well acted, gritty thriller but not an action movie so if you go expecting that (which I did from the trailers) you will be disappointed - reminded me more of the Homeland TV series

The Rock trying to make Crews wear the sunglasses could be ace.

Ideally needs to go on about 20 minutes like the original fight

9/10 from me for pixels, im a gamer and I think a lot of people miss the closeness that is captured in the complete dysfunctionalness of the characters, the distinct move away from the usual 'hacker/gamer' tropes and more towards a more realist representation of utter ludicrousness of gamers and their grasp on the world was for me what made it score highly, the 'romantic' nature of some of the scenes between the 'gamer' characters really does parody the nature of the relationship between gamers, the romantic slant on the centipede battle is a good example of that relationship. Everyone of the characters in the film I've come across in the gaming world but in the film they pale in comparison.

Maybe im over thinking it...

Entourage

If you don't know and love the TV series, just don't bother (although it's very good and available on Sky anytime).

But otherwise it's a good 7.75/10, if you know the series you know it's escapist nonsense, they don't live in the same world that we do, there's a few good roles for women in it, but mostly anyone female on screen is dollybird garnish.

A few things that jarred a bit, when they started making the series in 2004 the lads were all mid-20's-ish, so when they're talking about getting laid, chasing girls, and basically talking about women is material things, I seemed normal - but now they're 40ish it looks a bit sad and creepy, especially as they've updated the dollybird garnish so they're still all 18-25. It's outrageously homophobic too.

The story is silly, and the writer hasn't really changed the formula so the film is basically a series condensed into a few hours, it starts with them casting off anything from the previous series (wives, girlfriends, jobs, houses etc - not much carries from series to series in Entourage) a crisis unfolds, a few panic, mostly they don't care, it's builds and builds to the point when it's all going to crash around their ears and then suddenly everything works out in the end - it happens between scenes too, the whole point of Entourage is everything works out in the end.

I know that all sounds a bit negative, that's why I said, if you don't know and love the series don't bother - not because you won't know the characters, but because as a stand-alone film it's pretty crap, but if you're a fan of the series it's a small pile of funny scenes which don't make any real sense in the long run.

Oh, and as ever, Ari is the best thing about it.

Never seen Entourage before but I started watching it when it started being screened on Atlantic a few months ago. Watched up to S5...I think...love it, it's silly fluff.

I guess you seen it years ago when you were young and it holds a bit of nostalgia for you? I'm the same myself with loads of films from my youth but watching it now for the first time aged 38 it just wasn't that good.

I was actually excited when I found out Roddy Piper was in it as I used to enjoy watching him as a lad in the WWF but honestly he was terrible.

I've never met anyone who actually likes Adam Sandler.

So who is it who puts him in these films?

I find the concept of disliking someone you have never met to be somewhat strange.

Right then I will rephrase it as "To the best of my knowledge, none of my friends like Adam Sandler's films."

I have no problem with the man himself.
