Office Space

I just watched this again, haven't seen it for years, and I actually think it's better the second time round. What a great film.

9.16/10

I like all the comments confused about Mr Plinkett reviewing a film he likes

Bridge of Spies

Golly, that was good!!

I didn't notice it when it came out in the cinema and saw the dvd on the shelves but didn't take much notice. Just randomly it was just starting on Sky when I sat down tonight so I thought I would give it a go and now wish I had seen it before. Really good.

Star Trek Beyond

Started worrying straight away due to the dodgy CGI and daft slapstick of the opening scene. Improved a bit but the story was a mess and the action scenes nothing we haven't seen before. Pretty obvious JJ wasn't at the helm for this one unfortunately.

Entertaining in places but ultimately forgettable and not a patch on the first 2 so overall a bit of a disappointment.

5.5/10
Good summary. Had no impact whatsoever, unlike the first two.

Agreed. Some films are rubbish, some are great, some can change your life.

This was pointless. Even trash has something, this had nothing.

I have watched a couple of films over the past few days>

Green Room - A punk rock band find themselves targeted by a ruthless club owner and his Nazi minions after witnessing a murder, leading to devastating consequences. It stars Anton Yelchin (RIP), Imogen Poots (as the innocents) and Patrick Stewart as the leader of the Nazi gang! I didn't think I'd like it, as it took a while to get going and the music at the start does grate. But, it turned out to be quite a tight little thriller, and quite violent/brutal. 7.5/10

Warm Bodies - A zombie 'rom-com' that I had avoided for ages. It just so happened to on SKY Movies and I couldn't be arsed to turn the channel over. Ended up loving it! So much so that I even ordered the Blu-Ray of the film. Much, much better than I thought it would be - 8.5/10

Agree with that. I went in expecting some god-awful Twilight knock off but was pleasantly surprised

I too was surprised by Warm Bodies. I don't like the main actor, and felt it was a tad rip-offy of, In The Flesh, but I enjoyed it. Nice and new and still a good zomb film.

Indeed. Very odd and strangely likeable at times. Can't decide on a score TBH.

Suicide Squad

Not as bad as the reviewers would have you believe IMHO. Yes the story is a bit crap, the music seems like it was added as an afterthought and Jared Leto's take on the Joker is questionable at best but I did enjoy it overall. Will Smith was great, as was Margot Robbie, and the rest were absolutely fine. Funny in places, some decent action and it had a bit of heart to it.

Nothing world changing but I'd give it a 6.5/10

Sully

Very short for a Clint Eastwood film but beautifully made and quite moving. Tom Hanks again proves what a fantastic lead actor he is and the rest of the cast do a great job. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 8/10

The Magnificent 7

A solid, old school western with a great cast. Well acted, beautifully shot and a decent way to spend a couple of hours. No it's not as good as the original, but what is? 7/10

Blood Father - Mel Gibson's latest... and it's worth the wait. A slow(ish) tale of a (no longer) wayward father looking to help his wayward daughter

Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey.

Most excellent, totally non-heinous. William Sadler almost steals the honours as Death; mustering up as much dignity as he can after being outwitted by a couple of dim-wits, and then when spotting a smoker in a hardware store he winks at him "see you real soon". Bodacious.
Station!

Louis Therouxs My Scientology Movie

Decent, but like one of his TV programs but longer.

It didn't feel like much of an expose of Scientology that you learnt much new. I get the feeling they had a lot more material not shown to get it down to movie length.

Also the dude who helped them showed a few times how LT's interview methods are purposefully abrasive and personally LT didn't come off that great.

Decent but not earth shattering - 7/10

The Girl On The Train.

Same kind of film as Gone Girl, if you liked that, this is good maybe not quite up with GG. Emily Blunt playing drunk was great in it, I haven't read the book so can't compare to that.
