Rogue One - pretty good. Neatly relates to the start of "A new hope" and has been given loving treatment. Sufficient nods to the original materials.
bad points - the silly chanting, and the CGI (though it was necessary for the two characters) - I thought it stood out a mile even though it was valuable to the story.
All of the good guys died ! As a result, there can be no attempt to make this an independent timeline and it's going to remain a single shard story. Which I thought was sensible.
7.5/10.

Suicide Squad. Rubbish. Incoherent, poorly introduced charaters. It's a shame because Will Smith is generally pretty watchable and Margot Robbie is incredibly attractive - you can't take your eyes off her. Cara Delevingne got a fair sized part but was rubbish, sadly, pretty wooden and predictable. Jared Leto was reeeeally crap.
2/10, sorry. One of the worst superhero stories done (yes, I know they are anti-heros)

I gave up half way through.
Was really looking forward to it as well.

Soundtrack was terrific though.

Leia, at the end. At least they could use Carrie Fishers voice.

That wasn't CGI. They used an actual actress, with make up etc

It was. It may have been a different actress under the dress, but the face was unmistakeably CGI'd on top. There's something very obvious about the botoxed, un-moving nature of a CGI finished image.

Rogue One. By far the best of the Star Wars follow up films. After a slightly busy start it is coherent, thrilling, heroic, and sad. It does a great job of the human side of even the previously faceless Empire. Half a point off for sound in space. 9.5/10

Lord Vader looked a foot shorter than he appeared to me when I was a young boy. For a moment I thought it was Rick Moranis reprising his famous role. wink

I thought he looked much broader in the shoulders (which probably made him appear shorter).

Interstellar.

Utter pants.

That is all, thank you ....
Pants, that's being kind I feel.

It's like going to a mental ward, injecting the 20 worst patients with LSD then trying to have a conversation with them. For 2 hours.
Are these comments jokes? Interstellar is one of the best films in recent history.

Interstellar is a grower. I disliked it to begin with but the haunting soundtrack brought me back to it and it's a cracking film. Its not a schmaltzy, has good suspense/peril, tries to tackle something hard (mutli-dimensional beings/entities/concepts).

On first watch it's not amazing but over time has vastly improved and I also think it's one off Chris Nolan's good works (not that he seems to do crap films, ever)
