The magnificent seven remake. I'm not into remakes, having remembering most of the originals, so not much to say except D'Onofrio TOTALLY steals the show.

IMDB totally ruins so many films. There I am happily watching a film then some character appears, I try to remember where I've seen them before, then I realise I've stopped concentrating on the film so I need to look it up. 30 minutes later I've looked up the life history of a dozen random actors and already forgotten why I went on, not to mention I've now all but given up on the film.
As such I ignore the reviews on there because they were done by film geeks and not real people who were drunk & distracted like most of us when watching films.

So tongue out

Green Room. Nasty. Scary. Edgy. Good film!

Hell or High Water. Well-conceived, beautifully executed and acted. Outstanding work by Bridges, who gets better with every film it seems.

Gremlins - watched on Sunday night for the first time in decades - 8/10

Effects and general film "style" now looking surprisingly old but it´s all made up for with great story-telling and general fun feeling.

Wanting to make the most of a film I'll leave any searches until after the film.... But at least now we can see why Interstellar doesn't appeal to you... Drunk, easily distracted with a short attention span.... You're better off with Transformers and Independence Day wink

If you like a little D'Onofrio, I can't recommend Netflix's Daredevil enough.
I'll never look at a car door the same way again.

What's old about the style?

12 Dates of Christmas, a riff on Groundhog Day for xmas...a cheapy telly movie, but rather good, AMy Smart and the bloke from Saved by the bell, more enjoyable than it should have been. biggrin

All about the ambience.

You're either going to get it or you won't.

I would suggest avoiding Hell or High Water. biggrin

I watched 1 & 2 just the other week (again for the first time in ages); much prefer #2 but I think it's the nostalgia factor - of the two films I remember seeing #2 first years and years ago and it just stuck with me.

Hunt fort the Wilderpeople....Empire movie of the Year, IMDB rave reviews....

It's not awful but....It certainly isn't worthy of the accolades that it's receiving...I didnt laught out loud once, the kid actor wasn't particularly good and Sam Neil just didn't look like he wanted to be in the film, the jokes just weren't funny..... I'd give it 5/10

Are you saying NCFOM is not a legendary film. You may need to reassess your life!

Anyway, 3 Kings. 8/10

Saw it years ago. But re-watched it and it's still a good film

I'd say it wasn't. When I originally saw it I was looking forward to it after hearing reviews but as above found it dull. Thought I'd have another go at it some time later and still found it equally as poor as the first time round. I particularly don't get how people think Javier Bardem delivers a chilling performance.

I have no intention of reassessing my life.
