Rotten Tomatoes is an aggregate site, plus it pushes films for Sony.

Correct. I only do IMDB, since it has metacritic score as well for comparison. RT gradually becomes irrelevant since the day it was acquired by Sony

It Follows - 9/10

Second viewing, it happened to be on Film4 last night and couldn't resist. Love it, creepy as hell and yet again is going to get me thinking for the next few days about what I'd do in the same situation.

Watched this for first time last night. Although the basic premise makes little sense, overall I thought it was a cracking film.

Not a very PH film but a pleasant watch in a sort of Downton Abbey / Call the Midwife kind of way.

Saoirse Ronan is delightful.

Just finished watching Split.

M Night seems to be back on form with this one.

And a twist and a half at the end.

7.5/10
I had not realised it was a MNS film before deciding to go see it on Saturday. Might not have gone if i had known. Many of his films are open ended, unresolved, involve the supernatural etc

I'd give it a 7.5 out of ten purely because of the acting - McAvoy was scarily superb, but it was not an 'enjoyable' watch at all.
And the twist at the end actually spoilt it to me. My other half had not seen that film (like others) that the twist refers to so it would be pointless for many.
I watched it, not knowing before I went in that I had read what the twist was (wherever it was that I read it, there was no 'spoiler alert', it was just mentioned along with other parts of the basic setup, so i thought nothing of it). So at the end of the film I was wondering what the twist was supposed to be, and was a bit confused, thinking that I'd completely missed something.

Good film though, and McAvoy did a really good job with the characters.
After a bit of thinking back I think i'd agree with the above. The twist is very much an "in" twist. Kinda cliquey.

The acting is great though. I'm gonna knock it down to a 7 though hehe

Just to confirm... no one watch this ever, I'm surprised you gave it as high as zero!
I wondered once how bad it was, luckily..

Watched quite a few films over the last week that were well worth the time:

Arrival
Lion
The Edge Of Seventeen
Project Almanac (doesn't get great reviews but I enjoyed it)

War Dogs.

8/10

A bit predictable , and if you saw Lord of War with Mr Bankrupt himself Nicholas Cage, you'll get the twist, but it's enjoyable nonetheless.

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night Iranian vampire movie. More about the atmosphere, than action/horror. Cultish, I suppose you'd say, and not your typical PHer's movie. 7/10.

Passengers - a spaceship destined for another inhabited planet with all 5000 occupants in hibernation for the 120 year trip, and one bloke is woken up with 90 years left to travel....wasn't sure what to expect, and thought it would be rather boring, but was surprisingly good, would recommend watching it 7/10 , plus it has Jennifer Lawrence cloud9

Also watched Passengers last night.

A diverting couple of hours but the ending seemed to be a bit of an afterthought. Visually great and some good ideas, but I don't get the love for the lady in it - I think she's quite bland but maybe I'm getting old.

7/10

Finally managed to see the end of Intestellar (with two kids, finding a 3hr period to watch a film uninterrupted is tricky). Really liked that, but then I usually enjoy "slow" sci-fi stuff. Next on the list is Arrival

Watched Now You See Me on Film4 last night. Entertaining tosh. High-paced enough that you can skip over the gaping plot holes. Like Ocean's 11 with magic wands

Recently watched PASSENGERS.
It's a solid 5/7 wink even for those of us who don't really *do* Sci-Fi.

Recorded the recent Film 4 repeat of TRAINSPOTTING ahead of the new film coming out.
Watched it again with my wife at the w/e and was surprised how much I'd forgotten!
T2 doesn't come out here until 15th Feb. frown
