I tried the first episode of Hunters this afternoon. The beginning was beyond ridiculous, watched a bit more then packed it in.

Right, I have finished Hunters. First show I have binge watched in a while. Well recommended (other than the duff performance mentioned above).

I have, though, a question about the ending as I am dim.

Why did they take Joe to Argentina?
Did you miss the last clip? Because that is where the general had escaped to and where her boss (Hitler) was in hiding

Finished Hunters now, would still rate it a 9/10
Give a it a few more posts though and people will be telling you how bad it is due to historical inaccuracies etc laugh
And you were alright with the first scene in the first episode? Or was that the 1/10?

Through my rose tinted spectacles, it was a great opening biggrin
Seriously though, are you just referring to how unlikely it was to have happened? Or the fact that it did happen and was too violent?
It was the sheer unlikeliness. By all means have a 'kick the dog' to establish that the bad guy is a bad guy, but the manner in which it as done was absolutely preposterous.

I hear you but with the nazi hunting being the main story I guess they just wanted to set a baseline to show how evil/how far one of 'them' was willing to go to justify the hunting and killing of them.
I agree that was their aim but the way in which it was done was far outside any possible reality.

New sci-fi, releases today

I'm liking the style and pace of this. Recommended if you need cheering up wink
Just watched episode two. I feared my sides were going to split with laughter.

Seriously though, that ending... OMG...
That's two episodes we've watched. Not doing anything for us. Achingly slow and pretty meaningless.

S3 of American Gods has just started! Looks like it’ll be an episode a week.
When a new season appears of a show that hasn't been on for a while we usually rewatch the previous season before starting on the new season. Helps bring us up to date. So rewatched episode 1 of S2 this evening. And remembered why I couldn't remember what happened in season 2. It's because nothing happened in season 2.

It’s really got this season to save it. Lots of people quit mid season two so it became a different show than intended I think. Worryingly Mr Nancywas fired for season three and there is no return for Mad Sweeney so already two huge characters down.

Lots of pressure on it this season. I’ve read various reviews saying it does deliver. I hope they are right. It’s a great book and I think it could come back to what was envisaged, but winning people back might be an uphill climb.
Serialising anything is always problematic especially when actors leave or are fired. Each time there's a personnel change it points up that they're not actually there to serve an existing story, they're there to read the lines that have been written for them by whoever has the job this week of coming up with something to fit the cast that's available.

Agreed. It's perfect.
A particular favourite of mine, I bought the DVD years ago.

We've been watching Bodies. Originally on BBC1 in 2004-6. We'd not seen it before. It's very good, probably the best medical drama we've ever soon.

I remember that. Very dark and very good.
+1

One of Jed Mercurio's.
There's holes in nearly every plot, and Bodies is not one of the exceptions. But we watched and enjoyed it anyway. Several good looking women too, which is never a bad thing.

Been trying 'Wolf Like Me'. Supposed to be a comedy drama. Abandoned it before the end of the fourth episode. It's an interesting premise but it's the type of thing where everybody is supposed to be relatively normal apart from this one of the characters who has this very abnormal 'thing'.

But one of the other characters persists in doing things that no normal person would ever do despite being confused and upset. It's as if the idea is to show how confused and upset he is, and then to show it again, and again, and again...

Have also just finished Season 1 of Night Sky. Really enjoyed this. Good acting (JK Simmons - love him). Great production values. Like the story. Pace is borderline but, kept me hooked.

Hopefully Season 2 will go ahead as there's a ton of material in it.
I've also just finished Night Sky.

Some properly nice sci-fi, and also hoping for a second series.
I'm wondering why people who live in what looks pretty much like a barren wasteland would keep a bunch of llamas in a small stone paddock on a hilltop, with nothing for them to eat or drink.
