Takes a lot to get me to the cinema these days.
can't disagree there. Too:- expensive
- dirty
- noisy
- crowded
in fairness now I'm retired midday viewings are actually quite pleasant (though I really don't understand how they can afford to screen a film for 5 people! ) and one of my 'local' cinemas is £5 a pop, which is most agreeable (the slightly disagreeable bit is a 1/2-hour drive to get there)!

Mr and Mr Smith, 4 guns out of 10 Cameos
Thought I was in for some spy action comedy st and ended up watching a depressing semi art-house rom com.
I think Glover (as director and producer) is buying is own hype too much here.
Oh and he’s not even dressed remotely as well as he thinks
I agree it certainly wasn't what I was expecting. He looks like a tramp, as you say too many people are drinking his KoolAid.Thought I was in for some spy action comedy st and ended up watching a depressing semi art-house rom com.

And also, the dude needs to work on more than just his pecs in the gym! Huge scultped pecs, then chicken arms and shoulders, really odd looking.

My last two have been Blade Runner 2049 and Dune

Same here, I just figured Top Gun: Maverick needed to be seen on the big screen. As soon as the first plane took off from the carrier and the music kicked in I knew I was right.Takes a lot to get me to the cinema these days.

I've gone for the ad free option.£2.99pm is FA
I don't agree with it as it's already a paid service anyway.
However if they'd just said prices are going up we'd have had a bit of bleating, but wat else hasn't gone up?
Thank you to whoever recommended Daeth's Game superb TV
If everyone just pays it though, nothing will change. If we were talking about a company not making a profit and in financial difficulties then fine.I don't agree with it as it's already a paid service anyway.

Next it'll be £2.99 for the UHD stuff.

I got dragged to the cinema by my daughter and her friend to see Wonka. £28 for tickets, and even more than that for hot dogs, nachos, chocolate and slushies.
When I was growing up, my parents would never let me have anything from the cinema concessions. Ever. And when I left home I never started. Makes for a very expensive visit otherwise. Reminds me of one of the joke letters in the Viz letters page:
"I was at the cinema recently, and the concessions stand wouldn't accept a £50 note for my drink and hot dog. So I had to use two twenties and a ten"

Surprisingly the Vue in Bromley lets you take in your own food and drink as long as its not hot food or alcohol. I took a bottle of water and stopped at the Wetherspoons almost next door for a pint after.Reminds me of one of the joke letters in the Viz letters page:

I think my parent only took me to see two films The Recuers and Star Wars A New Hope

Thanks to all those who suggested Deaths Game, up to episode 6 now and it's been fantastic. Completely original, full of action, twists, different emotions etc and consistently 8/10 each episode.
Up to the same episode and the same view for me too. This is top quality TV and what a cast. There were tears in Ep4, so no doubt I'll be a mess at the final episode going by reports on here!
I really hope it goes as mainstream as Squid Game as for me it's miles better. Again thanks for the recommendation, I would never have watched it otherwise.

I've watched it all again for a second time this weekend, I enjoyed it that much. Just like the first time round, someone must've been chopping onions in my house during episodes 4 and 8, as it got me again. I've rewatched a few TV programmes, but normally at least a year between viewings, instead of a month. There were tears in Ep4, so no doubt I'll be a mess at the final episode going by reports on here!

I liked the closing credits music, which was performed by the lead actor, Seo In-Guk

I think my mother only took me to the cinema twice, the cat from outer space and the spaceman and King Arthur. I watched a new hope at a girl's birthday party my sister had been invited to where I sat at the back with the projectionist who was Barry Norman, the girl's uncle. I think my parent only took me to see two films The Recuers and Star Wars A New Hope
Dare I add Hazbin Hotel into the mix? Im not sure what I watched but it kept me watching the whole series. Only 30 mins x 8 episodes
Its animated for a start and Lucifer's daughter wants to rehabilitate Hells sinners so they can go to Heaven.
Loved it, it had some catchy songs throughout, very violent and the bad language was incredible.
Think Disney with the music, but with bad language and violence. A bit like the Marvels version of Super Heroes compared the The Boyz.
8 singing sinners out of 10 insane Angels. (Is that the right way of doing the score)

I hear that BBC iPlayer is going to stop people from downloading content to watch offline. Glad Prime still have that option, I have a six hour coach trip to York on friday and have downloaded a selection for the trip:
300
Deep Blue Sea
Dunkirk
The Covenant
Plane
The Contractor
The Ice Road
Triple Threat
Twin Rivers

Was planning to watch the Grand Tour tomorrow but went to Prime today and realised it’s now £2.99 a month to go ad free and have Dolby atmos.
I know that’s ‘only’ £36 a year…but when I’m already paying?!
As a matter of principle, it’s a no from me. I’m done watching anything on Prime now; I’d rather gouge my eyes out!
