Saw it last night. Great, though throughout I felt that I was conscious of myself waiting for the moment that it gripped me the way the original did and this moment never came. Got off to a slower start than the original and I wondered when I'd be into the groove of it. About a quarter of the way in I realised I was properly locked into it. I'd say it held my attention but wasn't the epic that seemed to be over in two minutes that the first one was. I wondered the same thing about Begbie that kev1974 mentioned in his spoiler earlier in this thread. Enjoyable enough, I just hope they don't start banging another out every two years now!
There is talk of them doing one based on Begbie due to the progression of his character in the later books. Robert Carlyle has mentioned it on a few chat shows.

Saw it last night, we really enjoyed it, it was all about the great performances (no plot) and i think you need to have seen the first film to get anything out of it. 7/10 for me.

Saw it today, really well done. Renton's new "choose life" rant was tremendous, and a lesson for our time.

It left me cold frown

I also didn't like the cartoon faces superimposed on their faces.

That entire scene was brilliant. The cinema I watched it in were killing themselves with laughter. The pin numbers too.

The viagra scene in the toilets was also excellent.

Overall length I thought it was very good, but not as good as I hoped.

I went to see it last night and must admit it surpassed my expectations. Ewan Bremner was outstanding as Spud.

Spud and begbie really developed as characters in this one. My only disappointment was there were a few good bits in porno that weren't in the film. Really looking forward to when the outtakes get released.

Bremner said in an interview that up to 45% of the film never made it into the final cut, so I'm hopeful that any deleted scenes are included on the physical release. Ever seen the deleted scenes from the first Trainspotting? There should be a video of them on YouTube.

Just one word Spud. I forgave it any sins over the original because of the way it treated Spud.

hehe

As soon as I saw that scene I commented that certain muppets will be seriously adopting that.

Aye i bought the orange and green version of both the vhs release and the soundtrack. Hopefully this time the extras can be purchased on digital download though as i don't have a dvd or blu ray player now, everything is either straming or stored on my nas.

yeah there's loads that hasn't made the cut. They were filming round the back of my flat and I know none of that has made the cut. Also a friend is a prison guard at saughton, he was involved in loads of filming and all he managed was 1.5 seconds in the closing scene..... defo holding out for a directors cut!

There is a bit in the trailer with prisoners cheering behind bars, that as far as I remember wasn't in the finished T2 film. Which also suggests a lot more was filmed in the prison (or a prison-like set) and then cut.
